Punda Maria lies in the northernmost part of the Kruger National Park, 8 km from the Punda Maria Gate. The camp is situated in the Sandveld region that is often described as the botanical garden of the Kruger National Park. There are numerous plant species which occur that are unique to the area. Game species most likely to be sighted include impala, zebra, buffalo, elephant, eland and sable.

PLEASE NOTE: the rates are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes will include the 1% Community Levy, but will exclude daily conservation fees, which are to be paid directly to camp on arrival.

PLEASE NOTE: from 1 September 2017, all visitors over 18 years old will be required to produce their identity document (ID), passport or alternative valid identification e.g. drivers licence card for scanning upon entering/exiting the Park.

"We have booked a site with an electrical point and paid more for that.Upon arrival we were told to go to the campsite and find a place. That no campsites are pre booked!!! This is untenable!!! KNP staff were very unhelpful and apathetic. The ablution block is overcrowded and in need of a upgrade. At the cost involved it really not worth it. Certainly not going to KNP again."

"A nice rest camp, clean and comfortable beds, basic self catering facilities in twin room, great place to stay for exploration of northern area of Kruger and area should not be missed. There was miscommunication when we booked a night tour, and we missed out on our pick up, this was quickly rectified and we greatly enjoyed a personal tour late in the night with the manager of the site."

"Our wonderful stay in Kruger was capped with 3 nights at Punda Maria. We had a very private campsite and were able to pick up a number of new bird sightings from our tent! Kruger is an absolute gem - probably still the most exciting and rewarding places we have in South Africa and Punda Maria provides the visitor with a real bushveld safari atmosphere."
