Glen Afton Country House
Situated on Glen Afton Farm, a little over 2 km from the N3 Freeway and 10 km from the village of Nottingham Road, Glen Afton Country House is at the hub of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. We offer three luxury double rooms and two family units each sleeping four, all with full en-suite bathrooms, bath and shower in each. Each suite is individually and tastefully furnished and offers coffee and tea making facilities, reading matter and gas heaters and down duvets for the cold winter nights.
Patio rooms overlook one of the attractive dams on the farm. After a hearty breakfast, served either on the front verandah or in the elegant dining room, guests may take a leisurely stroll around the 80ha farm, spot any of over 130 species of birds, a variety of buck, other small game or our farm animals, fly-fish in one of three trout dams or try a hand at pool or snooker on a full-size billiard table. For the more adventurous and energetic, Glen Afton Country House is the ideal base from which to explore the many delights of the Midlands and Central Drakensberg area, all in close proximity.
The Battlefields Route is also easily accessible for day trips. Glen Afton Country House offers the perfect retreat with peace and tranquillity, comfort and convenience. Enjoy cozy log fires in winter and sumptuous country breakfasts, with home-cooked dinners by arrangement. Hosts Alan and Julia guarantee friendly, personal service and traditional country hospitality at all times.

22 June 2009"We arrived at Glen Afton on Saturday around mid day and were welcomed by Julia and her 2 Boerboel's and a very friendly Fox terrier. After we unpacked we left to go to the rugby in Durban and returned after we had dinner (arranged by Julia) in the area to a wonderful warm bed and a super breakfast on Sunday morning. It is a pity our stay was so short as I would have liked to try my hand at fishing in one of their dams. The nguni stud is in and excellent condition and you can see that Allan and Julia are extremely proud on their Nguni's."
