  "We absolutely loved Otters Den. Stanley and his staff are wonderful hosts. We felt totally safe and all of the Covid precautions were excellent. It is the most exquisite place just to relax, enjoy the view and the tranquility. I loved the idea of the jacuzzi bath, but coming from a water stressed area, just could not use it."

  "Loved the location. Everything well thought out. Thoughtful touches like warming our room before arrival and milk in the fridge showed extra care. Candles in the on the jacuzzi and solar light jars added that extra bit of magic.Charming and winsome place. Will certainly make it a regular stopover."

  "Otters Den cottages all have a beautiful view of the lions river with an amazing jacuzzi-bath. As we went in the middle of winter the only things we really missed, and that we feel would have made our stay perfect were a fireplace and satelite TV. It obviously depends on what your looking for. We've been to the midlands a few times and we've done all the touristy things, so we were looking for a cozy comfy relaxed two days of lying around reading and drinking hot chocolate all day. Otherwise the cottage was neat and clean and had all the basics to prepare a simple meal."

  "This place is truly magical. The pics on the internet really do not do it any justice. The unit is a stunning size, extremely well looked after and very clean. The bed was very comfortable with a beautiful goose-down duvet. We received a very warm and welcoming reception from the owners as well. We will definitely be back.... again and again!"

The cottage was self sufficient, had everything it needed and boasted stunning views of the adjacent farms and Lions River. We enjoyed braai'ing on the private balcony despite the freezing winter temps!"

  "The cottages are just about 3 star and serve their purpose. Perched on the top of an embankment, it had lovely views of the river and hills. Unfortunately the wrong half of the couple that run it was there to greet us. Her opening line to us was that she found it awful in the preceding few days because there were tiny tots about in the presence of my 2 little ones aged 2 and half and 7 months. Make no mistake, that was a purposeful statement. Subsequently, she showed us our unit and rather than give us a list of "do's", she preceded to give us a list of things of "do nots"!!! I found her exceptionally condescending and it simply wasn't the way to start a relaxing few days.There may be other issues to why she was not very welcoming to us but rather than hypothesise, it is best left not further explored in a public arena. But if I can give one piece of advise to similar businesses....if you don't want kids, just announce it on your websites. Don't take our money and then make us feel as if we are imposing a burden on you. We are more than capable of finding a place elsewhere.Cheated"
