"We arranged to have breakfast served at 8am on the Sunday but none of the staff was in sight come Sunday morning. So we paid for - but received no breakfast."
"We had an amazing time at Quinnest, Quintin is a very good host and made us feel at home. We loved the layout of the room. It was a very calming and relaxing weekend, we loved the dogs, they made us feel at home as well. Next time we will bring along our Jack Russel to play with them."
"A very nice place with big playing area and Quintin is a very pleasant person to be with"
"A very pleasant and friendly stay at<div>Quinnest. We definitely be back.</div>"
"Quinnest has listed so many things on Safari but there was hardly any as listed. The listing mentioned "<em>Includes Breakfast</em>" & "<em>Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast served daily.</em>" But when we called the owner to check the options for breakfast then we got to know that breakfast would not be served and they told us that Safari made an error in the listing. When we spoke with Safari they said that the breakfast should be there and the owners made the error. However, Safari spoke with owners and made appropriate amends. The listing also mentions "<em>Your host will happily provide weekend package deals for those seeking to add a bit of adventure and fun to their stay. We also do Sundowner cruises, watersports and aeroplane flips around the dam at an additional cost.</em>" None of this was available as the owners were not available. Also we were told that their boat motor has developed some fault. Another thing mentioned in the listing but not working was the Telescope- "<em>There is a telescope for guests who want to gaze at the moon and stars at night.</em>" Our booking said '<em>Family room</em>' but we were provided a different room. In listing it was mentioned Dstv & TV in room. But there was none. It also mentioned two double beds but there was only one double bed. Quinnest is situated in a good and peaceful location, around dam water, far from the hustle bustle of city life. In night it was pitch dark outside all around as no one was there to switch on the lights of the property or tell us except their four pet dogs. The owners were not there during our stay and we met their helpful relative Mr.Nolan for few minutes only during day. The room was little uncomfortably warm / humid without fan as you can't slide open the door for the fear of more mosquitoes. Overall it was below average stay with sleepless night in a good location because of mosquitoes in the room. One of the rare places in SA with mosquitoes. Take your mosquito killer along with you. Surely the experience might have been better if the owners would have been present to take care of the guests and sorted out the issues. But we lost a night of good experience.<div><br /></div><div><em>Establishment Response:</em></div><div><em><br /></em></div><div><div><em><br /></em></div><div><em>We as owners, normally do not take bookings while we are not at our establishment. As for our guest Ninshant, a direct booking was made through Safarinow. It was a surprise when this came through. The price was R500. For two and not R600 (breakfast inclusive). So although the website says a lot of things, we handle each and every booking ourselves and quote according to the needs of our customers. We have all above amenities and adventures, but clients book and pay for this before they arrive. In Ninshant's case nothing was pre arrange. In both cases there was a miss-communication between the client, safari and us the owners. We apologise for all inconveniences, for we are very proud of our establishment and do not appreciate these kind of reviews.</em></div></div>"
"We stayed there for 2 nights. Booked one family room for 4 but the patrons (absent, telephonically) were friendly enough to allow us to use two rooms out of the three they have, as all were available. Problems started a bit later when we discovered hundreds of ants in the rooms (dead and alive). Could be termites, not sure. We also found out that there was not breakfast. And no satelite TV. One room had one channel (SABC2) other room's TV could not be switched on. Then, there was no hot water for one day, but that was apparently a municipal problem. There was more awkwad experiences I do not even wish to report on. On the positive side, the place allows pets, which was the main reason for us to book and has a nice garden."
"Thank you we got the rest we required."
"I had a great stay at Quinnest. both hosts were very friendly and gladly welcomed me to the guest lodge. The room was very clean andwell presented.Should the need arise, I will definitely book with them again."
"Rooms are very clean but deceptive on the size and there is no privacy this is fine if you are only sleeping over for the night but not more than 1 day. Also the self catering is a microwave, fridge in the main house not in your room and all the guests share the same microwave and fridge. As I said for one night stay over its excellent but not more than that."
"Highly recommended."
"small room, no acc, no ventlator, no privacy on toilet, but nice garden"
