Steeped in history, Ouplaas Farm Guest House is situated just outside of Ottosdal in the North West Province. This is an enchanted, aristocratic sandstone building with a distinct character and old-worldly charm, set amidst age-old trees and a beautiful lush green garden.
The fully-catered facility offers world-class service with comfortable conference and wedding facilities. Activities include a large dam on the farm for water-skiing, canoeing and swimming, and there are two tennis courts, bird watching, horse riding, and hiking on farm.
Your hosts, Coert and Magdalena Coetzee, have been living and working on the farm for the past 30 years. Magdalenas love of music, people, interior decorating, and good food give a distinctive character and atmosphere to Ouplaas. Magdalena and Coert are also known for their hospitality with style, where guests will experience farm life and the peacefulness it brings at Ouplaas.
The farm Holfontein, on which Ouplaas Guest House is situated, has been part of the family since 1856 and is steeped in history and anecdotes from bygone years. After the Anglo-Boer War, the Coetzee family built the house where the guest house is today.
"We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Our hostess even sorted dinner on our behalf since we didn't know the area at all. All in all a pleasant family experience"
"Everything was perfect"
"Room was very nicely decorated. Owners was very friendly on arrival. Will defiantly stay there again."
"We were 3 couples who slept over at Ouplaas and found the accommodation well appointed, spacious and a treat altogether. We made our own dinner (braai) and afterwards our hostess surprised us with a delicious hot baked pudding in front of the fireplace. 10 out of 10 for Ouplaas and its interesting neighbour. :-)"
