Adley House

Built in 1905 by Sidney Herbert Adley during the Ostrich Feather Boom, this magnificent Victorian home was bequeathed in 1948 to the orphans of the Second World War. Mr and Mrs Macmoran tended 16 Polish orphans until they completed high school in the early 60s until was sold.

We bought the property in 1989 and undertook the arduous task of restoration. Hilda started a B&B in 1994 which is now a true guest house offering a retreat for you to enjoy.

"The rooms were nice but we would have preferred a bit more independence with our own braai facilities. The breakfast was nice especially the coffee!"

"Adley Guest house is fabulous. We were made to feel very comfortable, not only with our accomodation but also with our hosts - wonderful personalties there.

Our first holiday with our baby was so much easier because they were so accomodating - out of all the other guest houses that I sent enquiries to regarding available accomodation, they were the first to reply that they had a room available and that children are also welcome - a big plus!

They were also happy to accomodate us for an extra night, which wasnt booked before hand.

If we visit Oudtshoorn again, well be sure to stay over at Adley House again.

Thank you very much for a great stay - we felt absolutley spoiled in your luxurious room."
