"We absolutely loved our stay at De Kombuys. The staff were incredibly attentive with lots of extra touches to make our stay an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful stay! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place as a place to stay!"
"The rooms were very nice, we had a wonderful starry sky, breakfast was very good and the people there were very nice."
"A beautiful and tranquil place to stay, close to the Kango Caves in a peaceful valley overlooking the vineyards. It is artistically decorated and has most things you need including braai packs which can be ordered. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and were happy to tell us all about the area and their plans for their farm.<span style="line-height: 1.5;">We would highly recommend it and hope to stay again in the future.</span>"
"The peace and tranquility was wonderful, surrounded by spectacular mountain views. The sleeping quarters clean and comfortable with a country feeling. Definitely an establishment that I can refer."
"Enjoyed the stay very much! Everything was perfect. Would recommend it to everybody who wants to have peace and enjoy the tranquility and fresh air. And the hospitality of the owners!"
"It was a great experience. Found the farm easily with the GPS coordinates. Very comfortable cottage and had a long walk on the farm. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Was sad to leave. 10 out of 10!"
"What a wonderful place. The cottage was perfect: rustic; peaceful and equipped with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. There where tea bags, rusks, coffee and condiments provided. The cottage was spotless and very welcoming. The evenings were perfect as we watched the sun set and lit our fire. The night sky was spectacular. My teenage sons where kept busy with the pets on the farm - friendly dogs, chickens and ducks paying us a visit. We will most definitely return. De Kombys is a gem of a find."
"This is our best self catering experience in the world. De Kombuys is compact and unpretentious, but oozes care and style. There is wonderful attention to detail from the morning of our pending arrival when we received an email from Manina advising that the heaters would be on, our food defrosted in fridge and details of the weather forecast. Abundance in all supplies and toiletries and the rusks refilled daily. Hosts really proud of their home and like to share it. Martin lit fires for us and explained all about his special herd of grass fed organic cattle....we tried a fillet and some wors and it was the best ever. When our grandchildren left Manina gave them a very prettily packaged treat to go. Simply amazing at every level. We will be back for at least 5 days next time! Thank you for making the few days with our children and grandchildren so very special."
"Warm and nice hosts. The most amazing view from the stoep. The cottage has everything you need and is decorated nicely. A wonderful farm with mountains and a river."
"This was our favourite guesthouse stop in the 2 weeks we spent travelling in South Africa and we will be back! Martin and Manina couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming! The cottages are spotless, comfortable and thoughtfully furnished - so homely. And the view looking over the vines and up the valley to the stunning sunset amongst mountain peaks was divine... A 'must stay' if you are in the Oudsthoorn district!!"
"On our visit to the Karoo Festival in Oudtshoorn we were lucky enough to find De Kombuys, a short drive away from the hectic buzz of the Festival. It was well appointed with everything we needed and Manina's small added touches like real coffee and homemade rusks on the shelf added to our welcome. We loved the rural charm of it all, walking across the farm fields and enjoying beautiful views of the mountains and vineyards as we sat on our stoep enjoying a glass of red wine at the end of the day. The ducks were a bonus!"
