  "the place is exclusively wonderful. Very easy to locate with prefect easy to follow directions. An hour and half drive from jo'burg either by N12 or NI south. very well maintained with antique furniture that are so unique. Rooms are clean with easy to reach kitchen for each room. COVID-19 rules strictly followed and applied. Nice farmland nearer to the Vaal river. A must place to visit to rewind away from the city life."

  "The toilet is situated within a metre from the bed - with only a curtain separating it from the bedroom! The whole room smelled like sewage. Really awkward!<br/>The bed (although big) was quite saggy. <br/><br/>Establishment's response: <br/><br/>Dear Riette <br/><br/>Thank you for your review. <br/><br/>I did not meet you. Your male partner came to fetch the keys. <br/><br/>A Mountain View Country Estate was designed to be wheelchair enabled. The toilet in the room is meant to be easily accessible to a person in a wheelchair and we do have four guest toilets for guests who would prefer not to use the toilets in the room. I showed your male partner the other 4 toilets but perhaps he did not tell you.<br/><br/>I had some guests sleeping in the same room as you. The lady complained that the bed was too firm. You complained that the bed is saggy. I investigated and found the bed to be firm. Yes its not in your room, but its certainly not far. Please note that we in the proses of installing toilets in all the rooms. The place is comfortable and clean, well furnished also. The welcome from the proprietor / owner was special and his friendliness and care for all guests visiting over the weekend is to be complimented. Beds are very comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed the stay although we actually only spent the nights and breakfast in the lodge. Because we were travelling on, we were not prepared for self-catering and so went into Parys for dinner each night. If there is a downside, it is perhaps that one needs to know the area better than we did so as to make better use of what Parys and the environment has to offer.   "<p>Really enjoyed my stay. Just one concern for Mags though. She feels the Ablutions should be in the en-suite. Other than that, the atmosphere is tranquil and it is a venue I would recommend to my friends.</p><p>From a Fisherman's viewpoint, I would like Jacque to develop the Fishing area and possibly make a Picnic spot with Braai and Lapa above the Fishing area. Good River fishing with nice size specimens for Fly Fishermen as well as conventional River Bank Anglers.</p>"

  "We did not enjoy our stay at Mountain View Country Estate, in fact we fleed the Saturday morning after having arrived Friday evening.I should have read the other reviews rather than the venue's self-description, which is borderline deceptive.A few items that I did not find fitting:1.The "En-Suite" is misleading - it's really only shower and bath2.There are cameras inside the shared areas in the house lending towards a very creepy feeling3.The outside area looks and feels as if it's someone's back yard4.Other comments refer to the cleanliness of the rooms - though it generally appears to be very clean, there were unknown hairs on my pillow5.The refrigerator was only turned on when we arrived and subsequently everything inside it froze6.The seats inside are very uncomfortable and in dire need of re-upholsteryHaving stayed at various venues throughout South Africa I can advise that even in this price class it's not good value. Though the furnishings are generally not in line with a backpackers or hostel, the set-up definitely is.Though I see the defence in terms of the original oil paintings, these would really only add value once the other basics are in place."

Ek het baie lanklaas 'n gastehuis gesien wat so op standaard skoon en netjies is, en 'n bonus is die pragtige meubels, ek sal te bang wees om dit in my huis te sit, wat nog aan te bied vir die gaste. Die uitsig by die rivier en die koppe is net wat ek nodig gehad het om my kop skoon te kry. A Mountain View Country Estate sal my defnitief weer sien!!!"

  "A Mountain View Country Estate offers accommodation that is affordable yet comfortable, perfect for a romantic couple or visitors to Parys. The guest house is not far from town, the Vredefort Dome and other sights and attractions in the area. The service was a delight. We were only able to check in late in the afternoon and we were met with a smile. When our car broke down, Jacques (the owner) drove us to Potchefstroom without any hesitation.
