Egweni, or "Place of the Vaal River" in the indigenous Zulu tongue, is situated in the beautiful town of Parys in South Africa's Free State province. As the name describes, Egweni is located along the banks of the mighty Vaal River, only 110 km south of Johannesburg. Egweni is a farm-style, architecturally designed establishment providing stylish accommodation which presently consists of five Double Rooms, two Single Rooms and a Family Unit. Each unit is an individually decorated luxury suite furnished and decorated with your comfort in mind. The tasteful dcor, good service and view over the beautiful Vaal River, with its breath taking rapids, creates a relaxed ambience in which you can completely unwind.
The owners of Egweni are presently developing the second phase, which includes four state-of-the-art conference rooms, and a further eight en-suite bedrooms. Future developments in the planning stage include a restaurant, a chapel for intimate weddings, stylish picnic areas, a wellness centre, and various entertainment areas along the river frontage to ultimately create one of the most luxurious and popular resorts along the Vaal River. 06 October 2021"Staff friendly, river view beautiful. Asked for 2 single beds, got 2 single beds made up as one big bed. Room were full of spiders, spider webs on bedside tables, bathroom, ceiling ect. No outside seating. Could not even open the door for fresh air, as our room looked out on the workers courters. Not worth what we paid for the 2 nights. Will not recommend to friends"

09 October 2018"Our confirmed reservation was for one room with a stoep but we were re-allocated to a totally different room withour prior notice The pillowcases were slept on and had to be changed The light in the bathroom were out and not replaced even after we told reception The location of the room was not ideal It was noisy with all the festival attendees walking right in front of our door. The television was not working properly. The bedding (duvet cover) was old and had little holes in it (although clean) the mattress was lumpy and needs to be replaced. The ceiling fan was noisy when not on the lowest setting."
