Nestled in a bed of daisies, Green Door Guest Cottage - Loop Street is neatly tucked away down a quiet lane in the country town of Parys. The beautiful garden ensures complete privacy for the cottage, as well as fragrant aromas floating through the open windows into the spacious interior.
Focusing on comfort and neatness, the cottage consists of two en-suite bedrooms well-equipped with quality beds and soft fresh linen. The fully equipped kitchen leads onto the separate lounge with a TV and a dining area, all with air-conditioning.
Early mornings are best spent over coffee on the front veranda with braai facilities for later in the day. The property is well fenced, so you dont need to worry about the children and provides safe under-cover parking.
The town of Parys lies on the southern banks of the Vaal River about an hours drive from Johannesburg.
"This is a little old house with a lot of charm. We loved the fact that turtle doves were nesting on the front porch and we could watch the baby birds grow each day from the bedroom window. The kitchen is equipped with most things except a coffee plunger / coffee machine. Milinda is a lovely friendly host and kindly arranged a coffee plunger for us and delivered it to us on the first day. We appreciated her kindness and would recommend her to other guests. Her excellent hosting and hospitality was much appreciated. The garden is very large with many birds and ample space for pets or children to run around. Our small dogs easily walked through the fence separating the rear yard from the front yard, which wasn't ideal for us as we didn't feel our dogs were totally safe in the front yard which has a fairly low wall. In terms of location though, the property is well situated to explore Parys and the surrounding area. It suited us. The only downside was that the road is fairly busy with more cars and pedestrians than we had expected for a small town and this did set our dogs off a lot. We did enjoy this lovely pet friendly cottage and would recommend it to others. It has burglar bars on all the windows and has beams for security which we appreciated. Overall though the area seemed quite safe. We were very grateful that Milinda accepted pets and was so warm and friendly. This property is idea for a couple with small children or pets. We enjoyed our stay at the Green Door Guest Cottage and would recommend the property to others. Thanks so much."
"the cottage is lovely, it could do with a deep clean , the sad part is your continued traffic which is unavoidable and the barking dogs also unavoidable it is close enough to town but not in the town, reasonably safe, would tell friends about it thank you for your kindness and help when requested"
"Interesting to stay in an original cottage of a previous era. Very retro. A bit like a dolls house, making us feel very like Alice-in-Wonderland after she ate the cake and drank the drink. A total time warp. Lacks a bit of atmospheric ambiance. This cottage was further out of the centre of town than I anticipated -we expected to be able to walk but it was a bit far. Huge grounds but unfortunately only just coming into spring so no pretty flowers in bloom. Advice given re the tap water was not to drink it - but a generous amount of filtered water provided."
"Absolutely gorgeous little cottage all to myself, quiet, peaceful, clean, orderly, beautifully furnished and thoughtful touches in all the right places. Absolutely loved my tie here and I'll definitely be back in the future! Thank you, Milinda."
"This house was perfect for our small family, with ample space for our toddler to play in the back yard. Milinda was very friendly and helpful! Would recommend it for small families with toddlers!"
"Thank you for a lovely stay. The airconditioner was a life saver and although we only slept at the cottage, it was clean and comfortable with an awesome back garden."
