Old Bearie
Old Bearie is a charming self-catering cottage tucked cosily away in the lush green of a citrus farm in the Gamtoos River Valley north of Patensie. The farm is just a short drive from the eastern entrance of the fabulous Baviaanskloof Wilderness area.
The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to seven guests and comprises three bedrooms, one bathroom and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The first bedroom contains a double bed, the second bedroom contains twin single beds, and the third bedroom contains a bunk bed and a single bed. The unit is served by one bathroom with a shower, toilet and a hand basin.
The open-plan kitchen and living room has ample seating around the build-in fire place and is well equipped to serve any self-catering need. Less than two metres from the kitchen door there is a big lapa, also with ample seating in a beautiful natural setting. Parking available right next to the unit.

06 January 2020"Jansie was friendly from day one and very helpful, thank you Jansie. I asked about the television thinking I will miss it because of the fact that I am in a wheelchair and cannot do everything but never did I mist watching television in the time we stayed there. There is on or two things that is not wheelchair friendly but we and Jansie discuss that. We will definitely use old Bearie again."

13 August 2019"What a nice homely and spacious cottage. We had everything we needed and were warm and comfortable in spite of the cold. (A proper braai grid would have been a bonus) Only down side is the location as the passing traffic caused quite a bit of noise."

30 January 2018"The accommodation is spacious. The host is friendly and very helpful. She phoned to check if Baviaanskloof road was open. The cottage is well equipped. It was really hot though. I arrived at 1 in the heat of the day and was accommodated even though I was an hour early. The afternoon was uncomfortably hot and so was the night. Not sure what can be done to make the cottage cooler. There was a portable fan in the living room but I lacked the energy to move it to the bedroom. There is a bit of traffic noise. The cottage is right on the road. The braai lapa is great but not much to put the grid on. I improvised with broken bricks."
