Elephant Walk is a very popular B&B and Backpackers by guests all over the world, 2 minutes away from the Entrance Gate to the Kruger National Park in Phalaborwa. We have en-suite rooms with air cons, bar fridges TV's, microwaves, coffee/tea facilities. Twin rooms and a 10-bed dorm for students or groups. Clean linen and hot showers, BBQ facilities and a crispy pool. We arrange safaris into the Kruger National Park on open vehicles or a river safari for close up photographs of elephant, buffalo, crocks and hippos and a abundant bird life. A nice stop-over on your way to Mozambique through the Giriyondo border.
"Thank you so much for our warm acceptance and your gracious hospitality on our recent stay at Elephant Walk. <br/><br/>Without your advice and constant attention to detail, we would not have enjoyed ourselves nearly so much. Thank you again for such an enjoyable, as well as profitable and understanding. Hope to visit soon, again. <br/>"
"No review. Place was not as expected on the web."
"A friendly reception, clean and comfortable accommodation and facilities gets my vote any day."
"Big and clean dorms, good communal areas, close to everything you need. And less than 5 minutes drive from the Kruger gate... what else?"
"Check in was perfect. James was friendly and helpfull The restaurant he recommended was great. Room was clean and toilet + shower clean. The rate was good value. Will stay there again."
"Very Spacious Family Room at a very reasonable price. Owner very friendly. Communal kitchen was great."
"I stayed at Elephant Walk for 3 days with my family and kids. The place was very small. There is no place for the kids to play. they had to stay inside the room. The place does not even resemble the photos on the website. It was very disappointing. The owners dogs was walking in and out of our room. At least the place was clean. I would not recommend families with children to go there.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>1. On arrival at Elephant Walk Felicia informed me that her husband could not accompany the family on their planned vacation, and could not accompany them to my establishment. She omitted to add, that as a gesture of good will I immediately said that due to their unfortunate situation of her husband not being able to join them as a family unit, I will give them a refund of R500.00, which I did. You at SafariNow have the cancellation policy and are aware that I was not obliged to do this, but did it in any case.<br></br> 2. To make a statement that the kids had to stay in the room due to there being not enough space for them to play and run around is far from the truth. My establishment is situated on two stands and there is ample space for any child to run around and play. This is a B+B and not a holiday resort with playgrounds, swings and so on. They were out the whole day starting early morning until late in the KNP. The children spent the minimum time here at E/W in actual fact.<br></br> 3. I saw and spoke to the grandfather as well as Felicia the few times she ventured out of the room. I made a point of it to ask how their day was and if everything was in order and OK. They answered every time that everything was OK. Why no comment or suggestion on what she wasnt happy with?<br></br> 4. The last day they spent at E/W, I noted they were bored and obviously did not have plans of what to do or where to go. I made a point of it to have a chat with the grandfather and give a few suggestions of what to do especially for the kids like visiting the world renowned Hippo Jessicain Hoedspruit. There wasnt a lack of positive connection from my side or willingness to assist where required. Did she even bother to go??<br></br> 5. I do NOT have to change any photos on my website as they are accurate and reflect exactly how each room at my establishment looks. I would gladly invite anyone at any time, unannounced to visit my establishment to confirm whether there are any discrepancies in the way Elephant Walk is portrayed to the general public. At the same time I will be afforded the opportunity to display what guests from all over the world and SA have to say about me and my establishment . My guest book will be seen to portray a totally different picture as sketched by Felicia Van Rooyen. I will gladly take photos of comments from my guest book and forward them to SafariNow, if there is any doubt in my reply to this distasteful and unwarranted review.</i>"

"Lovely place to stay if you like the quiet life. Cheap, comfortable with lovely hot showers. Close to the town so you can easily walk to get anything you need but still secluded enough for you to feel like you are getting away from it all. 5 mins from Kruger gate so very easy to organise safaris from there. James and Elise made things very easy for me... only there for a weekend but will go back sometime."
