Esikhotheni Bushcamp

Situated on Esikhotheni farm, which forms part of the Pongola Game Reserve South bordering on the famous Jozini Lake where the infamous Tiger Fish has eluded countless fishermen.

Esikhotheni Bush Camp consists of a large elevated deck, situated on the Mpeti Stream, able to comfortably accommodate a maximum of 10 people; bedding and towels supplied, sleeping either inside the wood cabin, or on the deck, weather permitting - an experience not to be missed. No individual rooms. The open rondawels kitchen is fully kitted for the self-catering guest including a fridge and freezer, stove, etcetera, and is serviced daily. Firewood and ice are supplied at no extra charge.

Whilst the very unique bathroom, situated off the deck, partially surrounded by bush, boasts 5 star facilities, the sense of bush belonging is overwhelming with the huge windows allowing one to observe or be observed transforming the most mundane of activities into an unforgettable experience.

"Die beste in 'n lang tyd! Lekker gerus. Baie wild gesien en die stilte geniet. Plek is skoon en personeel baie vriendelik. En ja, daar was 'n olifant wat die water tenk gebreek het om te gaan stort en het ek hom half nege die aand by die kamp gewaar toe hy klaar gestort het. Dis nie 'n "photoshop" foto nie! Beslis aan te beveel as jy wil rus!<div><br /></div><div>T<em>he best in a long time ! Nice rest . Lots of wildlife and enjoy the silence . Place is clean and staff very friendly. And yes , there was an elephant that broke the water tank to shower and I saw him at half past eight in the evening at the camp when he tipped over . It's not a " photoshop " Photo ! Definitely to recommend if you want to rest.</em><br /><br /><br /><br /></div>"

"Absolutely fabulous - just remember it is a bushcamp and not a 5 star Hotel.Great to relax and get back to nature - waking up with birds and having elephants and warthogs coming to water hole everyday.Only 30 metres from the accommodation unit.Friendly and efficient personnel makes this 5 days to remember - well done guys!"

  • "Fantastic."

"Saw lots of game and had lovely evenings with a magic bonfire. Cottage was clean and neat. Fishing at this time of year was poor. Had a great meal at the lodge on the Wednesday evening."

"Interesting idea - 4 of the big five - sleeping in an open lapa with no windows or walls!! Must say our Russian visitors revelled in the "true African" experience"
