The Halyards Hotel
Situated between East London and Port Elizabeth, the coastal town of Port Alfred offers an idyllic setting for a memorable holiday. It is also home to Halyards Hotel, a great option for couples or groups visiting this beautiful part of the Sunshine Coast.
This hotel has a distinct Cape Cod design and blends right in with its nautical surroundings. There are 12 comfortably furnished guest rooms with twin- or double beds. Each en-suite room has tea and coffee facilities, a TV with selected DStv access and views of either the marina or the garden.
There are also three spacious suites, of which one is ideal for couples and two cater more to groups. Each air-conditioned suite has a lounge area, a TV with selected DStv access and an en-suite bathroom. Two of these suites also have kitchenettes.
Guests can spend their days exploring this charming town by enjoying boat cruises and other water-sport activities. Visitors can delight in the attractions of the Royal Alfred Marina while having a pleasant and unforgettable stay.

"My little ones enjoying the swimming pool."
04 January 2023"Good afternoon we just arrived home from enjoying our stay with you guys. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The roof smelt abit stale, but nothing a little sun light didn't fix. Other then that the room big enough to accommodate my little family of four. The food we ordered for lunch was wonderful, delicious . We really did enjoy our say and would be back as soon as we can. Thank you for a wonderful time. Regards the Inglis family"

18 August 2014"This hotel is situated so idyllically but is more than tired. The reception tells you all. It is unfriendly and very basic. The staff wave you into the general direction of your room without an offer to help with your luggage. The room was dark and smelly, the towels were threadbare and the sheets had long lost their crispness. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. A wimpy breakfast would have been better. How long is this Hotel going to rely on a reputation from long ago before it realizes that it needs an upgrade or to be totally demolished?"

20 December 2011"Linen was filthy. Wanted to stay for 2 days but nobody confirmed and then booked at another place. Just as well. Outside room at door filthy - cigarette butts and general weeds. Walls in romm covered with what looks like coffee spray. Wash basin broken, shower door broken, no aircon. Reception only 1 person on duty to do bookings and general reception work. Ronnie at reception very helpful but will never stay there again."

04 January 2009"The Halyards was so enjoyable that we stayed an extra day!!!! Lovely, comfortable rooms & a great pool area overlooking the Marina. The food was delicious & all the staff very friendly. We will definitely visit again."
