The 27 km river runs through the beautiful frontier town of Port Alfred, situated in the heart of the sunshine coast.

Kowie River Guest House offers three comfortable, luxury, en-suite double rooms that are river facing. The rooms all have private patios and are equipped with a gas griller, a two-plate hob and utensils. Rooms also contain flat screen televisions, satellite TV, bar fridges, microwaves and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Amazing sunsets can be experienced from our private jetty or from your private patio. Our swimming pool is an excellent spot to relax and unwind. Our beautiful, garden is filled with abundant birdlife. Guests have often sighted game animals whilst enjoying their breakfast on our private deck.

"In my line of work I do a lot of traveling and visit many lodges, hotels and B&Bs, many of which are very pleasurable and well presented, but none have come close to the Kowie River Guest House. My wife and myself were blown away by the Kowie River Guest Lodge. Besides the beautiful environment to the attention to detail it was amazing. <br/><br/>I was up early on the Saturday morning to attend a fishing competition in the area and Dale arranged a lunch pack for me filled with sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt, egg and a chocolate. The rooms are amazing and clean with great finishes and the view is stunning over the river. <br/><br/>Breakfast was a treat with the \Bare foot chef - Dale\" presenting us with an array of fresh fruits and juices followed by a cooked breakfast. All round this was an epic weekend and Dale and his staff get a 5 out of 5 from myself and my wife. We will be back soon. Thanks Dale for a memorable weekend!""

"Stunning! Everything from the well equipped rooms to the beautiful view from the rooms. My partner and I are avid travellers and have stayed in many places across SA, but one thing I noted here is the high level of service. Very friendly atmosphere and well maintained. The breakfast is wonderful as well! Excellent service and value for money. Ditte is an excellent host. The perfect place for a weekend getaway!"
