"<div>Not sure about the backpackers side.</div><div>If you book the little house with private bathroom, don't expect a spotless place. At all. Plus, going up to the house, you have to go through a disgusting stench. I leave that to your imagination.</div><div>At night, music till late, fight and swearing between guests.</div><div>Beautiful view, however. What a pity!</div>"
"Awesome place, awesome vibe, awesome hosts. We really enjoyed our stay there! We arrived after the shops closed so the hosts arranged charcoal, braai meat etc for us which was great!Just watch out for the speed bumps going into Port St Johns itself, they are dangerous and not marked at all!"
"Had we known or been told that Boxing Day in Port ST. Johns is not a good day to arrive, we would have changed our booking. It took us 2,5 hours to get from the bridge in the town to Amapondo! We ended up being trapped in our car with people and cars coming in all directions and disobeying the laws of road. We were gridlocked. When we finally got to Amapondo, it was dark and we were a little bit irritated but relieved. Very different from all of our other accomm but we are fun loving people and always willing to adapt to a place and culture. The location is great and food was fabulous. Best Burgers Ever! We were probably the oldest people there, but enjoyed the vibe and music. Everyone was friendly. And as Amanda begged us: we chose the wrong day to visit the town and she hoped that this would not be a reflection on what is usually a peaceful town and beautiful area."
"We really had a fantastic time at Amapondo, the hospitality and humbleness from the staff esp Siya and Busi was great including the Tour Guiders. We enjoyed the daily activities alot,my 10yr old son and 6yr old nephew had so much fun, my 68yr mom and 25yr sister really enjoyed themselves. Im definately coming back with my age group next time around."
"Thank you Amapondo for an excellent welcome and assistance in accommodating my family."
"Very nice and relaxing setting. Late open kitchen and bar made it a real convenience. It felt like we were really "away".. The only thing is to get there, very long roads with lots of stops."
"Had an awesome and very relaxed time. The vibe, scenery and friendly and helpful people definately make the place. Hope to stay a bit longer next time."
"We had a very nice stay at Amapondo Backpackers Lodge with view on the Second Beach. Great Location and friendly people."
"We were very surprised to see that most people at Amapondo is so "down to earth" and relaxed. We could not believe our eyes when we saw some "rusta" people with their handcraft stalls in the centre of the Amapondo entertainment area. At first we felt a bit out of place and very uncomfortable. This changed very soon as we were treated like royalty and we found every single employee at Amapondo very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Kate for being so friendly towards my two daughters. Amapondo is fantastic and very beautiful. The view from the veranda is breathtaking and the sea is virtually on the "stoep" We are so sorry that we had to leave so early. Send our greetings to all the staff."
