  • "Beautiful view but rundown shabby area"

    01 February 2014

"Accommodation was neat. No meals were provided as owners staff were off duty. Drive to the house: poor road and very old slum area to pass before entering delicious monster."

"We had a lovely few days staying here. Jules was a brilliant host and extremely relaxed. She gave us info. On the local walks and the restaurant served great food with good wine. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to be back soon!"

  • "Beautiful location"

    17 August 2013

"Very beautiful location. Nice and clean rooms. "The loft" only has an outdoor shower. The other rooms have an ensuite bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen is provided. Good starting point for beach walks or just relaxing and enjoying the awesome view. The restaurant can be recommended too."

"I came there for a wedding at a Golf Course, slept at Delicious Monster I enjoyed the stay, woke up with monkeys on the main door, interesting scenario."

  • "OMG!"

    02 April 2013

"Accommodation aside, Port St. Johns is a slum. We had in mind a cost effective family destination set in beautiful surroundings. Instead we drove for hours to arrive in a run down dirty slum of a town. The beaches are filthy and covered in cow dung and the town is a taxi rank where the only thriving businesses seem to be bottle stores. The accommodation was comfortable but should definitely not be advertised as anything better than a backpackers lodge. The whole place could use a good clean and guests should bring their own bedding. The Delicious Monster Restaurant was surprisingly good yet very rustic. We had a great meal, went to bed and left as early as possible."

  • "Piece of paradise"

"Beautiful accommodation. Will definitely go back. Roads are bad and nearby restaurants only take cash."

  • "Good"

"Very secluded and private, suitable for holiday."

  • "Great spot"

    22 August 2012

"Great spot, fantastic hosts, awesome food, amazing views. The experience would have been better if we had booked the whole place out, as you tend to be in other guests space some of the time."

  • "Lovely"

    16 July 2012

"A lovely place. Beautiful view and beach. Friendly owners. Everything was clean and tidy. A steep drive way for us Dutchmen (we live in a flat country), but worth the view."

  • "Great"

"Delicious Monster is a beautiful house with a gorgeous view of 2nd Beach (walking distance). The house comprises the Blue Room (en-suite), the Sun Room (en-suite) and the Loft - all share a well appointed kitchen and lounge area. The Loft room has no privacy - mere curtain to close, no fan (gets very hot in summer) and a steep staircase to get up and down to a bathroom with bath (no shower). All in all a gorgeous place if you plan on hiring the whole place out and sticking the kids in the loft - not really the kind of place to share with strangers, or using the Loft room for a romantic getaway! Awesome restuarant on site and very friendly staff!"

  • "Amazing stay"

    18 December 2011

    "Best vibe ever."

  • "Spectacular views"

    14 September 2011

"Rustic accommodation in a very quiet, private spot - as long as you are the only people staying there or part of a group of friends or family. Spectacular views, super friendly people and really good food from their restaurant. A place to chill."
