Sincere hospitality is our lifestyle at Herberg vir Afika. We strive to offer high-quality accommodation at affordable prices. We are a friendly home away from home where everyone is welcome. We offer self-catering accommodation ideal for single travellers, families and groups.
Guests will stay in one of fourteen units, between single and double units. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen with all cooking facilities, cutlery and crockery. We also provide bedding and towels. Each unit has its own private entrance offering complete privacy. We serve breakfast on request at an additional fee.
Potchefstroom is a popular academic town and is mainly known for the university. This large town is streaming with students; it has a number of restaurants and bars to cater for both holidaymakers and students.
"Very clean, provided everything we needed. Efficient booking and reception. State of the art access control."
"very clean. no tables or chairs despite the unit being a self catering. bedside lamp out of order. toilet "cubicle" very compact between the basin and the shower. shower "rose" was clogged up leaving about 30% of the nozzles working. only 2 coffee sachets provided (for a 5 night stay. was told it is a welcome gesture) with no sugar but about eight cremora sachets and about eight tea bags. access was hampered as my mobile number was loaded incorrectly onto the access control system."
"Location is convenient, safe and quiet."
"We stayed at the Herberg for 4 nights. It was clean as a pin and neatly serviced daily. The room is small but the bed huge. In high summer we recommend you bring your own fan as it can really get hot in Potch. To keep the windows open lets the noise from adjacent rooms in. I believe when all rooms are used it might be a very noisy experience. The pillows are not great."
"No one to receive us at arrival. I had to phone 2 numbers to be able to enter. Place is clean and neat. I was disappointed that there was no tv in the unit. Not what I expected at all. The exterior of the entrance is awful it looks like an abandoned house.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>No one to receive us at arrival. I had to phone 2 numbers to be able to enter.<br></br> The lady that normally stays overnight to help with late check-ins was on standby as it was after hours, with her number displayed on the office door. Our check-in time is from 15:00 17:00, with clients to phone if a late check-in is to be expected. Unfortunately we never brought this to the clients attention, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.<br></br>Place is clean and neat. I was dissapointed that there was no tv in the unit.<br></br> The client was fully aware of the fact that only some units have TVs as stipulated on the Safarinow Website. We tried to accommodate her needs by contacting other clients to move them into another unit. Not one of the other clients wanted to be moved to different units. We were unable to assist until around 20:00 when we had a cancellation. Upon enquiring whether the client would consider moving she answered that it was ok, she had already gone to bed. We are in the process of equipping each unit with a TV, and should complete installation soon.<br></br>Not what I expected at all. The exterior of the entrance is awfull it looks like an abandoned house.<br></br>The premise on which our offices are based, is a rented premise with the guesthouse units built on our own stand at the back of the rented premise. We are currently in the process of acquiring the first mentioned premise, and will pay attention to all the maintenance needs upon ownership. A painting project for the exterior of the reception and house is currently in progress.<br></br>Kind regards,<br></br>Bianca van Heerden</i>"
"Great, comfortable stay. Many thanks."
