Afdakkie is a self-catering free standing house in a quiet street in the heart of Prince Albert. It is one of the older houses in town, thought to have been a Nagmaalhuisie. The house still has some of the original architectural features in the form of old reed ceilings and oregan pine doors.
The house is now simply furnished with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is fully equipped for self-catering and offers basic supplies such as tea, coffee and fresh milk. The bedrooms have comfortable beds with feather duvets and cotton linen. Towels are provided.
There is an outside courtyard, with shade in summer provided by a large old grapevine. The front stoep has a wonderful view over the town and into the Karoo. The house is walking distance from restaurants and shops. The back yard has a herb garden and fruit trees.
"Place was clean and comfortable but there were plenty of mosquitoes at night. Could get much sleep"
"Good day,<div><br /></div><div>We enjoyed our stay at Afdakkie. The attention to detail was appreciated such as the supply of coffee, sugar and milk. The beds were comfy and the towels were clean. We only figured out how to use the hot water the next morning as it was not very clearly explained. On the whole, a great experience! Many thanks.</div><div><br /></div><div>The Grove family</div><div><br /></div>"
"We (3 motorbiking gents) stayed at Afdakkie for one night. We found it good value, well positioned in terms of restaurant and shops and equipped with everything you need for self catering."
"This is a spacious facility, clean, very comfortable and located within walking distance from all the businesses.<div>Great stay for only one night as well as for longer periods of time.</div><div>We liked the attention to details in the house as well.</div><div>Highly recommended!</div>"
"We enjoyed every moment at Afdakkie. Everything was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was well-equipped with all we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the coffee table book on the Karoo was very informative. Our dogs were happy to have such a big, walled property in which they could roam about."
