Bushman Valley is located within the Swartberg Private Nature Reserve - the area south of Prince Albert up to Eerstewater in the Swartberg Pass. The valley was occupied by San for thousands of years and is preserved in memory of them. Learn the hunter gatherer lifestyle of these fascinating people and see their implements, clothing and weapons.
Picnic and barbecue areas, camping and caravan sites have been provided in the valley, below towering cliffs.
"You have everything you need and more at the camp sites. Pool is sparkling blue. Even a jacuzzi if you want to chillax. I would recommend a stay at Bushman valley."
"Basic room but very comfortable. The clear night sky was amazing to view the stars and the swimming pool was a winner. Johan recommended a good restaurant and the people in general were very hospitable. Really enjoyed our time there"
"I loved the effort that was made to make sure we were warm and comfortable on a cold winter's night. We were moved from there original cottage that we booked, to one which had electricity, which was thoughtful. This however impacted our cooking arrangements as it was not quite what we expected., but overall we had a good experience."
"We were blessed to arrive in a sudden rain storm and stayed for one night at Bushman Valley. The self catering cottage was very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The Valley is beautiful to watch as the sun sets and getting ready for a new day.Tertius and Christa"
"Love the aircon a must for Prince Albert"
"Stay was good the light at the back of the admin building was on whole night - was blinding and spoiled the experience"
"We were lucky enough to get allocated cottage 5 which is the last wooden cottage in the valley. The views are beautiful! The cottage is very comfortable and sleeps 4 people with a little kitchen, 2 separate bathrooms both with toilet and shower, a huge deck which you can sleep on as well and a splash pool on the other deck near the braai area. <br/>We spent New Year here and the peace and quiet is absolute."
"We have been going to Bushman Valley since 2010 I think. This is a place for people who want the basics in life and nature- rugged landscape in a 'kloof', just enough facilities in the chalets to be clean and to sleep well, star watching in silence - baboons permitting - a braai among the rocks! No Tv's, cell phone reception or Pc! Thank God for that! I will see you again and again, unless you put Tv's in the chalets and have cell phone reception! I just can not imagine anything more banal than to sit and listen at night to nature and watch the stars with someone chatting next door to his girlfriend on his cell - loud and vulgar, or listen to a Tv screaming out the latest soapie!<br /><br />"
"We stayed over in Cottage 3. It was clean, but very basic. The aircon was great as we visited Prince Albert during a heat wave of 40 degrees.<div>I was dissapointed that they dont even service the rooms. At R900/night, I assumed cleaning in the morning would be standard.</div><div>In today's day and age I do feel that it important to add info on the website/advertising sites that there is no cell phone reception. It was my birthday when we visited and I was extremely irrittated that nobody could get hold of me whenever we were in our cottage. If I knew that in advanced, I would never have booked there - not over my birthday in any case.</div>"
"GOED TOEGERUS. PRAGTIGE NATUURSKOON"
"Clean, pleasant, value for Money! All you need for a fun weekend with the Kids in Nature, just a Stow throw away from Prince Albert."
"Always a pleasure to stay at Bushman Valley.<br />"
"<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">It was a good experience with very relaxing atmosphere. <span></span></span></p>"
"We needed a place to sleep over to break a long journey. Knowing that we would arrive late at night, this was the only accommodation that we could find that would accept guests very late. We were very impressed withcottage #1. It was a lot more than we expected. It was extremely quiet, making it easy for a good nights rest. Special mention has to be made to how clean the cottage was! Unfortunately we did not have time to explore the area, but after our experience we would certainly like to go back again."
"It's clear that the owner of this guest farm is far from his place. There was no milk/ cremora for the coffee, no dish washing liquid, no water in the swimming pool and mouse droppings in the bottem room. The dishes in the cupboard was not clean and had to be washed before we could use it."
"We had everything we need and more when our group of 15 stayed for three nights at Bushman Valley. We enjoyed the camping atmosphere but did not have to sleep in tents. The young boys stayed in the caravan for a diminished rate and one family also occupied a room for a slightly diminished rate. The rest of us stayed in three bungalows. Everybody gathered round the fireplace for meals and we had lovely walks in the mountains. One could easily walk/ jog the 3 km to the amazing town of Prins Albert in the morning and then come back to the relaxed open space of Bushman Valley for the afternoon. Also adding to the experience was definitely the very friendly staff."
"We enjoyed our stay and the staff are very friendly."
"Nice, quiet place, but unlike advertisement NO functioning pool !!!"
"Very nice enjoyed the walks"
"Unfortunately we experienced the accommodation during bad weather. The lack of indoor fireplace, lack of additional blankets inside (only duvet), badly sealed skylight windows (against the wind) drove us away. Braai area is rocky and not well laid out. All of this drove us away and we did not spend the night as planned. For R 250 - R300 per person per night, this facility needs a serious makeover, some grass, and a proper reception."
"In a very peaceful setting we enjoyed a perfect stay. The cottages are completly equipped and very clean, the braai facilities also. Nearby Prince Albert is an absolute plus."
"Excellent accommodation."
"Very pleasant stay"
"We were pleasantly surprised with the place. Very nice atmosphere and if we are in the vicinity we would like to return. Only thing was the electricity supply to the lodges couldn't handle all the appliances and tripped a couple of times!"
"A very nice little cottage, very clean and comfortable, in a peacefull valley. Good Value."
"We enjoyed our stay very much. Camping facilities were absolutely fine. More shade would be nice but we saw a lot of trees being planted."
"Clean, well maintained and well positioned. This is a very expensive area and we were there at a very expensive time of year, so R500 for the two of us was good value. It was good to be so close to the pass and also to be out in the hills. I would also like to thank SafariNow for your very efficient and effective booking service."
"Excellent staff, very friendly and competent. Self-catering unit has everything needed. Very quiet and peaceful at night."
