"Quaint little cottage, visited in winter and was very pleased to find not only a fireplace with wood, firelighters and matches provided but also a gas heater and electric blankets. Very cozy."

"We have just spent a blissfilled week at The Olive Thrush and experienced first hand Paul and Margeurite's warm hospitality as well as their delicious home grown oranges and lemons. Paul kept us well stocked with firewood for the cool winter evenings and all in all we are feeling very relaxed and rested."
"We stayed at the Olive Thrush with our two children for 3 nights in June. What a beautifully appointed cottage which had everything we needed and more. We all enjoyed the beautiful garden with the small lake and watching the weavers and swallows in action. Our highlight was picking and eating oranges in the small orchard. Our hosts, Peter and Marguerite were away during our stay but could not have made us feel more welcome. Peter phoned a few times during our stay to check that were comfortable. Their caretaker and grounds keeper were helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. The home baked rusks, milk, butter and eggs were also a treat. As were the electric blankets, hot water bottles and cozy fireplace to keep us warm in winter. Thank you again Peter and Marguerite. We hope to come back one day soon."

"This is the most wonderful place, the bed is the best we have every experienced in any accommodation including 5 star hotels, very pleasant and obliging hosts, and cleanliness and attention to detail very thorough, this is the best place in the world to sit at night just star gazing, will return if possible when next in south Africa."
"Thank you so much for all your hospitality while we stayed with you - everything was great especially the outdoor shower! The personal touches where really appreciated."
"We stayed at the Olive Thrush for two nights and were enchanted. The setting by a dam with boats to use, as well as the very comfortable furnishings and finishes made our stay very special. The Olive Thrush is a five minute stroll to town and being situated at the edge of Prince Albert also allows for easy access to biking and walking in the Karoo countryside. Paul and Margeritue are lovely hosts. Can recommend to anyone."
