The Shores

The Shores is situated in the South Coast resort town of Ramsgate in KwaZulu-Natal, which is a sub-tropical paradise and one of South Africas premier playgrounds. The golden sandy beaches are dotted with various fresh water lagoons and surrounded by beautiful indigenous vegetation supporting diverse bird life.

The Shores offers 16 units nestled in a lovely, quiet and secure area, but still close enough to the bustle of Margate, Shelly Beach, and Ramsgate's main beach. You will find the well-known Waffle House just off Ramsgate's beach.

The units themselves are luxury 4 Star units with Bali-style furniture and air-conditioning throughout. They feature three bedrooms and two bathrooms each, and each sleep up to six people. The kitchens are fully equipped with washing machines, tumble dryers, and dishwashers. Each patio has a braai. There is a swimming pool within the complex.

The complex is surrounded by beautiful trees offering protection from windy weather. The complex is only 50 m away from the lagoon and beach. The beach offers a safe and protected bathing area with lifeguards on duty during the holidays and on weekends.

The Shores offers an ideal weekend getaway, mid-week break or holiday destination, perfectly positioned to explore the many local attractions.

    "The caretaker Johan was very patient with us as we got lost following the directions given. Exactly as the photos show. The place was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and the linen was clean - although I am used to a top sheet whereas the beds have fitted sheets and a duvet. It would have been nice to have a dart board on the patio - there was a wooden dart board cover but no board. The water pressure was great, the hot water hot - both bathroom basins need to be looked at as the water took a while to go down. The secure parking was great. The only down side was no view at all of the ocean - you could hear the waves but it would have been perfect if you had an ocean view. There is a short pathway and you're on the beach. I liked the fact that we did not have to take our DSTV card - most other places I checked did not offer that. Being a self catering unit,toilet rolls, dishwashing liquid, dishcloths and large bottles of drinking water need to be on your shopping list. Its a 5 minute drive to Blue Lagoon Restaurant - highly recommended and The Waffle House for breakfast. There are others as well but we stayed with the above two for the short time we were there. We will definitely use them again."
