The grand old Royal Hotel is located in Riebeek Kasteel, the village which, together with Hermon and Riebeek West, forms the picturesque and tranquil Riebeek Valley and part of the Wineland route. The Royal Hotel is the oldest and Colonial hotel of the Western Cape and offers the most beautiful and luxurious accommodation in Riebeek Kasteel, and the Swartland for that matter.
The hotel offers accommodation in true Old World luxury at affordable prices and all the rooms have been recently upgraded to the highest 5 Star standards. Enjoy great views of the valley and the Kasteelberg from our garden, swimming pool and pool deck or indulge in relaxing massages in the privacy of your room or in the gazebo in the garden.
The 150-year-old Colonial bar is located next to the restaurant, while the pool bar caters for the pool, garden and outside lounge. Our verandah was named the longest verandah south of the Limpopo by the Government when we were listed as one of the 50 Most Fabulous Places to visit in South Africa.
The location of Riebeek Kasteel is very central, with Paarl, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Franschhoek, Tulbagh, Ceres and safari possibilities all less than an hour away. Many golf courses, including the biggest golf course in South Africa, is just half an hours drive away.
The hotel is the perfect wedding venue, and with our personal service and possibilities, we are also very popular for conferences for up to 120 delegates.

20 January 2016"<p>Had to cancel our stay at Royal Hotel at last minute due to vehicle break down.</p><p>Spoke to Lisa who was very helpful and allowed us to retain credit for accommodation and rebook on space availability, despite the fact that it was peak season.</p><p>Accommodation and meals were excellent, service less so because hotel seemed to be under staffed.</p><p>Never the less a wonderful stay and would recommend any time </p><p>Rupert & Gwynne</p>"
