  "Very friendly and accommodating owner, but they could improve by buying new sheets. It was washed out. The shower door is a bit broken, and not very clean and there was a cockroach running around while I tried to shower. They could also improve by adding tea and milk in the room.But for the one night we were there it was fine. Great location and friendly owner. If they just improved a few thing it could be a great place."

  "An old and well presented guest house / self catering in Riversdale. Perfect stop-over for investigating the stunning area. Easy access to the restaurants in the area, and a lovely drive to meet up with the R62, or continuing the journey to George/Cape Town."

  "Kitchen requires more working space, for a Self catering unit. No stove, so you are forced to Braai. Additional, Electricity Plugs. Crockery and Cutlery requires some upgrade. A coffee table would round off the setup, as there is not Table and Chairs in the Kitchen.Management to be available when guest check out, we slipped, the keys inside the Reception area at 10.00am when leaving. Called the Cellphone No 0834160670 @ 10.09am It is now 19.09pm Nobody has taken the time to call back, to confirm they have found the key lying in the entrance hall, or why we called.Pool area can be cleaned, water has not been cleaned for sometime.Wi-fi Code (No Wi-Fi passwords available in the Unit - Leave a printed Pamphlet in the rooms) if their is no one at Reception to answer Guest QuestionsDSTV - Satelite TV (Only had Chanel 1,2,3, eTV and a Christian Chanel"

  "The advertised picture is beautiful, but unfortunately it is misleading. We did not stay there, but at another house. The bedroom was neat and tidy. The kitchen is not equipped for self catering. Luckily we could buy foam cups, paper plates, an iron and a kettle, but what about others who are not that fortunate. We could not even prepare breakfast at that house."

It was good value for money and I loved how clean everything was even if not the most modern in some cases. <br/><br/>The only comment I have is that more info can be provided on the facilities available so that you can pack properly for the self catering kitchenettes ."

  "Saw one of the workers only when we arrived and had to pay the balance.<br/>Did not see anyone after that. No room service, no coffee and milk available.<br/>Also was told that no breakfast was included, even though I showed the lady that on the website it states quite clearly : B&B included.<br/>She said that she was going to talk to the owner, but as early stated, saw no one for the rest of the weekend."

We were the only ones there and didn't feel very safe as we couldn't lock the doors.<div>I would love to come back in a years time and see the finished product. Rusticana has so much potential. An impressive collection of antique furniture!</div>"

  "The old house is very nice and furnished with antiques and brick a brak that add atmosphere. Staff were friendly, tho I never saw the owners. Room was comfortable, but there was mould on bathroom ceiling. Breakfast was generous, but very meaty - not much to cater for those not into "vleis".<div>The very reasonable tariffs unfortunately meant a different class of visitor in the room next to mine. They played loud "doef doef" music till midnight, followed by a domestic quarrel, after which he left. Returning around 1 when she had locked him out. Much banging etc ensued. She eventually let him in, whereupon there was a lot more loud argument, then much unpacking, banking etc. Eventually quietened down around three. Till 7am when the music started up again...</div><div>Also had a visit from a v e r y large rain spider. (I think they are harmless)<br /><div><br /></div></div>"

  "We stayed at Rusticana for 1 night and will not stay there again. We arrived at the front door, only to be told to drive around the back. We thought this was where the car was going to be parked for the night but was a bit shocked to find that this was where our room was. The room could only be described as an "ex domestic room", complete with bolt and padlock on the door (a bit industrial) along with general rubbish/washing line/broken furniture lying around as well as place for two parked cars, complete with noisy roller doors. There was very little heating in the room, had an aircon which only managed to take the chill off so we sat with hot water bottles on our laps all night. Breakfast was the nicest part of the stay but we were taken through the garage area/ backdoor and into the dining room. Not at all scenic. Could not wait to get back into the car and leave."

This Victorian house in the middle of the small town of Riversdale has a lot to offer, and if you love antiques and everything from a bygone era, combined with the modern, this is the place for you. The host as well as all the staff is extremely friendly, they make you feel right at home. The 3-course homemade South African dinner is to die for, and the breakfast can be compared with 5 star restaurant quality. I do recommend Rusticana for everyone traveling through Riversdale, the hospitality and old-time charm will definitely captivate you."

  "Our room was a self catering room (allegedly) but didn't have any pans apart from two fryinmg pans, no toaster and very limited facilities. The bathroom was so dark that it was impossible to shave and the only window (with clear glass) opened straight onto a public area. The second window, in the bedroom, opened straight on to a public road, so the venetian blind had to be kept closed at all times. We had booked for 3 nights but decided to leave after just one, forfeiting our deposit. The owner told us that he would 'sort things out with us' the following morning, but when we were ready to leave at 8.30, we were told that he was unavailable as he was still in bed. In summary, a total disaster."

  "After warning Fanie, the owner, we only arrived at midnight! He kindly opened up for us and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were spacious and the décor interesting, with a variety of olden day bric-a-brac. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we had a wonderful night's rest. Although we had not paid for breakfast, Fanie generously provided us with a meal before we continued with our journey the next morning. I recommend this establishment without any hesitation!"
