  "I found Africlassic River Lodge on the internet and that always has a risk that the accommodation may not live up to the way it appears. Africlassic however, far exceeded all expectations. The staff have the professional qualities of being friendly, personal and attentive. The location is fantastic, and the photos of the lawn down to the river at the rear of the property don't do it justice. We always felt safe and were given suggestions on where to eat, shop and tour. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the decor throughout is fantastic. Lovely hot showers and clean linen. Nothing was left to chance and we have been happy to recommend Africlassic to anyone who may ever be visiting Johannesburg. Thank you, sincerely, for all of your attention and support."

  "I am so glad that I chose Africlassic River Lodge. It truly is one of the nicest accommodation establishments I have ever been to. I loved the view from my balcony over the Braamfontein Spruit just where the water bubbles over the rocks, I loved watching the many, many birds, and the joggers with their dogs. The breakfast room is very pretty and the attention to detail is fantastic. Every evening I got home to a carefully prepared, heated room and could enjoy a warm relaxing bath or shower. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and I hope it wont be too long before I get back there again."

  "our stay at Africlasic River lodge was wonderful.The friendliness of the staff could not be faulted.Our rooms were very comfortable and well worth the cost.Breakfast was freshly prepared on request.The location was ideal.felt like you were out in the country but so close to the safe part of joburg.I would highly recommend this B&B.We would definitely stay again.It was a bit cold unusually so for this time of year but a heater was provided.The rooms could do with a brighter light and a full length mirror.Apart from this the River lodge is superb value and is very safe and secure with very friendly staff.Jan was always on hand to answer any questions."

  "Jan and his team looked after us wonderfully well, understanding our needs and responding to the fact that my wife was recovering from major surgery. It is a beautiful place to stay, calming and safe, with a lovely garden that means one begins the day eating a wholesome breakfast looking out across the lawn down to the lively river. Resident Kingfishers announce the arrival of the new day, and a host of other birds frequent the garden. Inside the house, Jan's travels across Africa are reflected in some wonderful art all carefully selected and creatively used to make the house a cut above the average B&B. The staff team is well trained and always friendly without being intrusive. We had a great stay and we will be back!"

  "We arrived very tired and stressed out to this beautiful lodge ! We simply had the best room and view (ALWAYS ask for the upstairs bedroom with the balcony)! It was stunning- it didn't feel like we were in Jo'burg at all. The sound of the water is definitely very calming and waking up to the smell of fresh coffee was so inviting! Our room was clean and the amenities was definitely 4 star - quirky design with the log above our bed !! The privacy factor was also big for us and not once did we feel invaded. Thank you for a beautiful night away. Only thing is, no one greeted us goodbye as we departed from this lovely retreat, but otherwisee, it was just what we needed .... "
