Almondbury Guest Farm

Welcome to Almondbury Guest Farm.

Situated between the picturesque Langeberg Mountains, just a mere 6 kilometres from the centre of Robertson. This is the ideal getaway if you are wanting some peace and quiet for your soul, we offer rustic but comfortable shabby-chic self- catering accommodation in the form of The Old Barn which can sleep 8, as well as 2, two sleeper wooden cabins.

This is the perfect setting for small functions such as weddings or birthday parties of +- 20-30 people which we are able to accommodate in The Old Barn or outside in the garden.

Facilities on the farm include a cement dam for swimming in the hot summers and walking trails through the veld and orchards. There are plenty of back roads for mountain biking, and hiking to a waterfall is not far off. Dassieshoek Nature Reserve is approximately 3 kilometres away. DSTV is available in The Old Barn, but you will need to bring your card for access. We do have Wi-Fi, however you will find the reception does fluctuate. Cell-phone coverage is also limited and only available at certain spots on the farm.

Robertson and the surrounds offer many treasures, there is an 18hole golf course at Silwerstrand, many wine estates on your doorstep or the Klipdrift Brandy Distillery and off course the Breede River for cruises or pleasure. Horse-riding facilities and Birds Paradise are also available close by. Route 62 offers many small towns with arts and crafts to experience. You could also choose to visit the hot springs at Avalon in Montagu for a different experience.

We look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of Heaven and we are confident you will enjoy your stay with us. We are very easy to find, just out on the Dassieshoek Road.

"<p>Very bad service ,on arrival house was not ready , toilets dirty, broken fireplace , no outside bins no bin liners. This was our second time here yet Mark did not know.<br></br>Mark the farm house manager , very unfriendly and unwelcoming, we stayed for 4 nights 1st July to 5th July 2015 , on the first night the was a burglary on the farm , two bikes stolen thank goodness only my kids bicycle pumps were stolen and not their bikes, so one can imagine we were edgy the rest of the stay no apology from Marknothing, waking up to a police vanfirst thing in the morning not good later to find out there are thefts on this farm all the time, anyway Mark was not hospitable at all unlike the previous farm manager Arnold hence why we had returned, on the day we checked outtheir was no farewell from him my wife had to gofind him to pay him , then I receive a email that We underpaid by R200 What?? we received no receipt for the cash either by the way.</p><p>All I can say is stay far away from this place it is not safefar better places to stay at in Robertson.</p><p></p>"

  • "What a wonderful place!"

    24 August 2014

"The guest farm is set slightly above Robertson, and while it is not 'central', we found little reason to leave! The cabins provide all you need if a quiet and peaceful escape is what you are after. Braai outside your cabin, have coffee in the morning sun admiring the mountains or simply enjoy this peaceful place. The value for money is unbeatable! We will definitely return!"

  • "Quant and beautiful scenery"

    29 June 2014

"We got a warm reception and was upgraded from a cottage to the barn on our arrival. The barn is equipped with everything you need. The guest farm is about 10 minutes out of town."

  • "Almondbury"

    02 February 2014

"We ended up going home, the cottage was full of spiders, there were 3 very big rain spiders in the shower and 1 by the kettle. The floor was also quite unstable. However with that said the cottage had a beautifully rustic feel and would have been nice to sleep in if we weren't arachno-phobes."
