Olyfenbosch Cottages are two charming historic cottages situated on a working wine farm at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains overlooking vineyards, with stunning views beyond. The cottages are close to mountain trails and nature reserves and activities on the farm include hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, swimming, and fishing in the dams.
Hartbeeshuis is a quaint renovated house comprising two luxury en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan lounge and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. Part of this building dates back to the mid-1800s and the unit also features three verandah areas for entertainment, one with built-in barbecue facilities.
J's Cottage is a converted wine cellar. This Victorian cottage is set under oaks and comprises two bedrooms, both with inside shutters. Both bedrooms share a spacious bathroom, complete with a shower and Victorian bath.
Please note we don't have cellphone reception on the farm, you need to go 500 m down the road to get reception.
"The beautiful mountain ranges, the serene atmosphere, birds chirping & warm hosts (John and Jenny). Stayed in J's cottage which is a B&B arrangement. Loved every moment we spent there. There is literally zero network coverage (which is a blessing in today's world of being connected). A must visit place."
"Keep it up! Very nice and great view!!"
"We had a lovely relaxing weekend in Hartbeeshuis. The house is spacious and cool and is situated right on the edge of a vineyard. Lots of balcony space to soak up the beautiful mountain views. Lots of beautiful wine farms near by to enjoy. Next time we will be back for longer! Thanks to Jenny and John for making us feel so at home."
"We very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage has a lovely farm setting and it was so peaceful to spend time there. The cottage is quite simply furnished but very comfortable and clean, and offers all that one would want from such a farm stay."
"A lovely cottage with the vineyards on your doorstep, beautiful mountains in the background. Olyfenbosch cottages is a gem of a place. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The cottage is well equipped and elegantly decorated."

"Jenny and John are wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home. Our cottage was very comfortable and the views spectacular! A wonderful libary filled with historical treasures was a treat. The cottage is close enough to town to hop in and out but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommended."

"<p>This B&B is hard to find and after a long portion of dust road when several B&B are closer in Robertson.</p><p><span class="hps">We found a tarantula</span> <span class="hps">spider in a towel when taking a shower that jumped on our hand! </span><span style="line-height: 1.5;">This was very surprising. We also found the nest of it with a lot of eggs, it could indicate that the rooms are not used often or the towel changed/checked often.</span></p><p><span class="hps"></span></p><p><span class="hps">The owners are very nice, the view also but for a B&B at 800 ZAR it is unusual.</span></p><p><span class="hps"></span></p><p><span class="hps">My wife was so shocked that she could not take breakfast and cried a while. "We recently spent two nights at Olyfenbosch Cottages. The cottage we stayed in was comfortable and large however, it was so hot and there was no air conditioner or fan in the bedroom. The cottages were described as you could walk to other farms and this was misleading as we assumed there would be wine tasting etc. Unfortunately it was just a farm where the grapes were grown. We did not have hot water for our shower on the day we left as the geysers work with gas. The gentleman was kind enough to change gas bottles, but that didn't last long as the gas ran out."
"This beautiful cottage with large rooms has North facing view over vineyards and dams to the mountains, it is magic. There were a few small drawbacks:A tiny stove/oven that was immensely slow to do anything.Party music drifting over from the nearby town."
"We stayed for one night and were upgraded to Hartbeeshuis which is a very spacious and comfortable .The views were stunning - what a beautiful area. Our hosts John and Jenny were very kind and helpful and served us breakfast in the cottage. I would suggest stocking up on any shopping you need if self catering as although not very far from Robertson you will probably not want to go out again once you reach Olyfenbosch - just chill and relax on the terrace with a glass of something cold. Plan to return."
"What a pleasure to have stayed at Olyfenbosch. Thank you Jenny for a lovely stay. Highlight for us are the amazing view, proper wine and whiskey glasses and the best of all, hot and dry towels every time we came back to the cottage. The history and heritage is also amazing and very interesting."
"Beautiful setting overlooking a vineyard and very close to the Dassiesfontein Nature Reserve! Far enough away from the town that you can relax but close enough to get all your groceries and visit nice restaurants and wine farms. Jenny and John were wonderful, helpful hosts will definitely visit again soon!"
"Lovely cottage on wine farm outside town. Nice and peaceful. Very helpful hosts."
"Beautiful cottage, lovely view and friendly hosts. We really enjoyed the stay."
"Beautiful place, comfortable accommodation and a friendly welcome from our hosts, Jenny and Peter. I don't doubt that we'll be back."
"Had a great stay, beautiful setting!"
"Very clean, beautifully decorated cottages. Our cottage, Hartbeeshuis, has a breathtaking view from all the windows. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility, although it was the coldest days of winter! John and Jenny were excellent hosts, and catered for all our needs with a smile!"
"We were five mature ladies travelling to the Wacky Wine Weekend and we stayed at the Olyfenbosch Cottages for three nights. Our cottage was very comfortable and the views are magnificent. John and Jenny Fisher were fantastic hosts - nothing was too much trouble and we really appreciated the hot water bottles at night!"
"I absolutely loved our stay at Olyfenbosch Cottages! The mountains are breathtaking and a walk through the grape vines is sure to transport you to tranquility. The hosts John and Jenny are the most interesting and lovely people I've met in years. It was very hard to say goodbye, but I will definitely be back. I would recommend to one and all."
"My wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this past weekend at Olyfenbosch and we couldn't have spent it in a nicer place. Stunning scenery and a cottage with all the amenities you might need coupled with great hosts Jenny and John - we will be back!"
"Wow,our (my fiance and I) stay at Olyfenbosch was the most soothing and peaceful stay ever. Jenny and John were so friendly and warm hearted. The rooms are so spacious and hygienic. The view outside reminds one of our relationship with nature. There is no doubt, that we will be going there again."
"Calm and peaceful setting with two angels hosting. Neat and spacious accommodation. Highly recommended."
"We had a very pleasant stay at Olyfenbosch Cottages. It was ideal for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city."
"This place is a true gem. Nestled in the mountain with breathtaking views, one cannot ask for anything more. The cottage is immaculately clean, supplies are sufficient, Jenny is very friendly and made us feel very welcome. It was a sad moment for us when we had to leave, but we left with wonderful memories and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much!"
"Really nice place. Clean with great view. Great value for money."
