  • "Boarding house."

    20 March 2018

"The self catering unit for 2 was clean and comfortable. It is the back section of a cottage. It had it's own entrance which opened onto the same stoep as the main cottage. There is an inter leading door into the main living room that was occupied by another group. We could hear all their conversations, cooking noises and even the child's talking doll. I was too afraid to fart as I was sure the people could hear us as well. There was a little grey box from around 1974 that was a TV. We did not check if it worked. There was no fridge to keep our drinks cool. The manager said we could store our food in the fridge of the main house! The place had the feel of a boarding house or backpackers with communal kitchen. At one stage when I opened our door, I was smack bang in the middle of a workout routine that was being done to some strange cult music. We did discuss leaving during the night but I was glad we stayed as we did rest, had a beautiful lunch at Four Cousins and read all the weekend newspapers."
