White Cottage

White Cottage is in Robertson, in the middle of the valley of wine, roses and horses (or mountain bikes, if you're not horsey!) We are on the famous Route 62 wine route, only an hour and a half from Cape Town.White Cottage is a comfortable bed-sitter that can sleep up to three guests in a large communal sleeping and living area. There is an extra-length queen-size bed with an electric blanket and one single bed . Wi-Fi is also available. Shower and basin, separate toilet. There are electric heaters, hot water bottles and plenty of blankets for winter. For summer there are ceiling fans inside and a leafy outside braai area with small Weber if necessary. The kitchenette is well-equipped with bar fridge, microwave, Induction plate, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, coffee plunger, teapot and crockery and utensils for preparing light meals. Complementary tea and coffee are provided. A private entrance and secure parking behind automated gate for your vehicle means that you can come and go as you wish whilst you are our guests. A braai and small Weber are available. Apart from more than 40 wineries in the vicinity, the Robertson area offers many attractions and activities such as golf at Silwerstrand, catered licensed river cruises at Viljoensdrift and Nerina, Horse riding at Burcon Horse Trails, skydiving at weekends.For Biking enthusiasts, your host is a keen MTB'er and roadie and can recommend many routes through vineyards or up mountains in the valley. Safe parking behind your own automated gate entrance.

    "Unable to find accommodation in McGregor for the Poetry festival, I found this Robertson gem on the SafariNow website. The owner, Liesbeth, is a wonderful, friendly and bubbly host. She immediately made us feel welcome and showed us the ins and out of her cottage, which had a lovely warm and lived in feeling, and the high ceilings gave it a nice fresh air feel. Off-street secured parking is a big plus.The breakfast just across the road at The Grand Hotel was delicious.Highly recommended and excellent value for money."

    "Hosts Phil and Lisbeth were charming, friendly and helpful. The cottage is rustic, comfortable and well equipped. There's no TV which is a bonus from my point of view. The adjacent garden is lovely and peaceful and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds. We will return!"

    "White Cottage is large, well appointed, and offers lots of little extras like different types of teas, Bodum coffee, bath robes, sherry and crisps. Liesbeth and Phil were friendly and helpful. We stayed for three days, but were not given room service during that time. Although we don't watch a lot of television, it would have been nice to have had one in the room. There was an old hi fi set in the cupboard which worked well, so we could catch up on the news and weather, and listen to music. We appreciated the garden, as we had been collecting succulents on our travels, and could take them out of the car. We were even offered slips of their plants."
