Elshane Guesthouse

Roodepoort means red valley in Afrikaans after the red soil found in this area. It is now a mix of residential suburbs, agricultural holdings and mining in the south of Roodepoort.

The guest house has three bedrooms with double beds and en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers. All bedrooms have DStv and a fully equipped kitchenette. There is a lovely garden with a sparkling swimming pool and a lapa with a braai area. We have safe and secure parking under the carport.

The inner city is awash with hawkers and street stalls, completely multiracial and undergoing a total regeneration. The sprawling malls and restaurant-lined avenues are attractive to visitors and residents alike.

"I stayed in the guesthouse for 2 nights, I got more than what I bargained for the room allocated to me was a family unit with 3 base sets, very neat, very spacious unit, the yard was beautiful with swimming pool and playing facility for children. Elshane was very friendly and welcoming."

"My husband and I had an overnight stay at Elshane Guesthouse on Sunday, 23 March 2015. We were very happy with our room, which was very spacious and comfortable. Everything worked well - from the shower water pressure to the TV! We felt 'at home'. The owner was also a charming host, who showed a genuine interest in us( her customer's). She went the extra mile - allowing us to stay a little longer and assisting us with 'business' needs.<div><span style="line-height: 1.5;">Thank-you for helping us relax before our business meeting.</span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.5;">We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.</span></div>"
