  "When we arrived the manager didnt attend to us, we dealt with another lady who seems inexperienced in dealing with guests, all in full view of the manager. There was a lot of confusion with the rooms. There was no hot water the entire time we were there. Very disappointing, I expected better service and will definitely not use this facility on my future visits. I also registered my dissatisfaction with the manager."

  "After reading some bad reviews online we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcoming and friendliness of the managers. The facilities were of a high standard and we will come back to visit again. The only downfall was bedding which was questionably clean"

  "Worst service ever received stove half functional, dust, no hot water, fridge not working and no electrify on day from 23:30 on night two called the contact number provided no answer when we call in the morning we where told it's not they problem and there is nothing they will do when we asked to be moved to another room I was told it's not even possible. we checked out a day early cause in the manner we where treated and fear that we would spend our third night with no hot water and electricity. I would never recommend this place to any one. List for words are endless to discribe the services we received when we received. The cherry on top was when we received brown and towels scary did not use them."

  "The first night of our long weekend stay was a bit noisy due to our cottage's close vicinity to the bar. The cottage is neat and well equipped. However the bathroom needs a makeover. Beautiful garden.Overall we enjoyed the stay."

  "<div>We booked 4 nights however only stayed for one. The unit was in such a horrible state, very dirty and not maintained. There were almost no kitchen utensils even though it's a self catering unit. What is advertised is not what you get. Even the images are not correct. The restaurant and the pool area is a joke. The bigger family unit is in better condition however it is still not worth what we paid. Property has potential if it wasn't for the bad management.</div><div><br /></div>"

  "Our arrival was unexpected for the staff, despite having proof of booking and the accommodation. They did not know which room to give us or how many nights we would be staying. The cottage was decent even though it had not had a last minute clean and geyser and fridge were off. When I asked about Wifi access, they were clueless. They have never had Wifi. Neither is there TV. I was advised to phone by the manager- but only got hold of voicemail on three different numbers and was never called back.We were unlucky to have four episodes of loadshedding in two days. Had to go on a hunt for candles and matches."

  "Overall - massive disappointment. Eagle Creek Resorts is a dark damp hole! I travel a lot and have experienced many places, but for the amount paid and how this place was advertised on various booking sites is misleading! The R300 key deposit surprise was irritating on arrival to say the least. And to top it off, no credit card facility!They couldn't accommodate us with a highchair or portable camp cot for our baby like all other resorts either. We also booked a unit with a shower, they agreed, and on arrival we were told they only had one with a bath.The maintenance is shocking! On arrival we had been told that a storm had knocked out a whole bunch of stuff, the pool was green, the grounds felt unkempt and tired. The playground for the kids were two dodgy looking swings and a wobbly slide. Mud, mud everywhere! As we arrived the water poured off the roof and splashed red mud onto the verandah and of course we had to track it into the unit. The 5 of us arrived to a bar fridge with a week's worth of groceries! The kitchen was badly equipped, no oven, tiny fridge, missing implements and cupboards with broken or missing doors! The towels were disgusting! They came "fresh" from the laundry stinking of wet dog and under arm BO!The beds are super uncomfortable and the "king" size bed in the main room had a ridge down the middle and the springs popped up everywhere and made terrible noises. The place felt dirty, it was dark, dark ceilings, dark paint - very depressing - and the place smelled musty and rotten... Paint peeling off damp walls, the doors stuck, there were no waste paper bins in the rooms, no real shelves for clothes and so much hanging space it was ridiculous - but no hangers!We had no less than 4 power failures (one of which was 13 hours!) and during that time no visit from management - we were thrown 2 candles and a box of matches by the cleaning lady- no offer of help from the "restaurant" for meals. A resort with no backup generator! "Fully serviced" - the cleaning lady told us it was not "her job" to wash dishes and that "we would have to pay more" - the management explained that they were having problems with the staff etc.... this was not our issue! They did rectify this though. When they did the dishes they just left the clean stuff in the sink and didn't even put them away! (no clean dish towel, wash up cloth etc for us to re-wash what they had done...)We were concerned for our safety as the perimeter fence was stated as electrified - when we got there we found a useless broken wire fence a child could climb over, surrounding the property. the burglar bars in the unit had been bent up and evidently someone had broken into the unit at some stage.The bathroom was not cleaned properly while we were there. the toilet leaked and soaked the floor and it was such a squeeze to get around the basin and onto the toilet, you had the rim of the basin under your chin as you sat! We had to hide the balance of our toilet roll to ensure they gave us more with the stinky towels.I also got the feeling that they were hoping I would forget my R300 deposit as I returned the key and departed, like I'm sure a lot of people have...And honestly - no TV? what do you do when it rains for 3 days with kids! What resort has no TVs?!"

  "Die woonstel is baie mooi en netjies,die oord van self is ook mooi skoon, die dienste van skoon maak kom gepas. Dit sal baie gepas wees as hul voor die tyd die inwonders vra wat hul verkies n stort of n bad, want op die profiel op internet is daar n foto geplaas van n volledige badkamer met n stort en n bad, maar in die woodstel waar ons gebly het was net n stort."

  "Just a few things that I would like to bring to your attention: The photos on the website are misleading, because the place Ive stayed in, didnt look a bit like the pictures on the web, and I do believe that the other cottages looked the same as mine. I expected much more. And the other thing is the name of the Resort. Its Fern Tree Park, not Eagle Creek Resorts. So in short, I was very disappointed."

  "We had an excellent time there and it seemed it was not long enough. The staff went out of their way to feel welcome. The atmosphere was tranquil, just what we needed for a piece of mind. I also have to add that Ista is a wonderful host, I would recommend it to more people in future."
