  • "Great views"

    03 November 2020

"Great location, breathtaking views (make sure you book a chalet with a view) the central block with reception restaurant TV room was well maintained, one of the pools was under maintenance but the other one was ok and had great views, helpful staff. The chalet was well sized and nicely furnished, except the kitchen area. Very little cutlery and utensils, you would expect at least 4 of each but there were very few things. Also, it's listed as self catering but it only has a microwave and a small braai outside so you can't really cook (no stove or hotplate). Went to the restaurant only for breakfast (that was ok) so can't comment on that."

  • "Misty Mountain chalet in Sabie"

    28 September 2017

"Loved: views from property, supply of wood for fireplace inside chalet, decent breakfast included, common lounge and games area and the very friendly and helpful staff. They offered numerous activities but can't speak on them as we didn't use any.Needs improvement: checkin/booking service, cleanliness of bathroom and kitchenette/crockery, upkeep of children's playground equipment. TV not available in individual rooms. The property was too close to the main road, so we heard mainly traffic noise and didn't get to enjoy the wonderful views and serenity which is expected from a weekend getaway in Mpumalanga. This property is best for short stays by passing travelers. It is family friendly and a decent no fuss place."

    01 January 2014

"We stayed over at Misty Mountain just for one night. The personnel were very helpful, friendly and true ambassadors of this beautiful setting in the mountains. Do yourself a favour and pick your stay carefully. The soft rain and mist added to the romantic atmosphere and perfect accommodation. We wished the stay could have been longer."

  • "A little piece of Africa, you go Misty Mountain"

    02 April 2013

"It's with mixed emotion that I'm writing this review.......Don't stress nothing bad at all. It's more a case of us being somewhat sad that we had to come home after spending 4 glorious days with you and your crew at the Misty mountain resort over easter It goes without saying that you have a winning formula at your resort. The venu, staff, food, location is amongst the best out there. Add to that your friendliness, hospitality and good old South African smiles, made this a truly remarkable stay, and one we would like to repeat many times over. A special thanks to the management team.....and Mable for this out of this world experience......and the super delicious food that rivals any top restaurant in South Africa...... Also it needs to be mentioned that this places food is seriously good. Your cook have a natural nack for the exact dish you present on your menu. Please send our compliments to him."

  • "Nice place"

    05 November 2005

"Misty mountains was a good place to stay, we stayed in a nice chalet with a wonderfull view. Sometimes we couldn't see the view because it was really misty (in july) but nevertheless we had a great time. Very very nice breakfast in a beautifull resaturant, also we had dinner in the evening there and it was really good. Romantic with log fires! Very good hospitality ans compliments for the people who work there! They are all very friendly! You can hike, the area is beautifull. Sabie is a nice place but it is a bit of a drive from Misty Mountains. But that was ok. We had a good time here!"
