  • "Outstanding hospitality!"

    30 March 2023

"Janet and John are not only fabulous hosts, but they have a wealth of local knowledge about the areas attractions that is worth its weight in gold. An amazing breakfast sets you up for a day of exploring this lushly gorgeous part of South Africa. Our advice is to not be fooled by any tour operators into spending only one night on the Panorama Route - it is worth exploring over a few days and Porcupine Ridge is the perfect place from which to base yourself. Could not recommend more highly!"

  • "What A Wonderful Stay!"

    04 July 2015

"John & Janet are the most welcoming hosts! I was never wanting for anything - I was the only guest there but they still went to so much trouble to make sure I felt at home, including setting up a full breakfast just for me! I have recommended Porcupine Ridge to everyone! Thank you John & Janet!"

  • "Great spot along the Panorama Route"

    22 April 2014

"I just returned from spending Easter weekend with Janet and John at Porcupine Ridge in Sabie, South Africa. It's hard to put into words just how much we enjoyed our stay. First, Sabie was our favorite town that we passed through in our explorations of the Panorama Route so the location was perfect. John and Janet were warm and welcoming, giving us lots of information to inform our travels around the area. Every morning Janet asked what our plans were for the day and she always had a great tip to add to our itinerary. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is delicious and they even sent us on our way with a packed breakfast when we had to return early in the morning. I would recommend Porcupine Ridge without hesitation!"

  • "Truly wonderful"

    19 May 2009

"Our 3 nights at Porcupine Ridge were truly wonderful! We arrived late the first night feeling very tired & frazzled, but we received such a warm & friendly welcome from Janet & John. The room was big, very comfortable & there were so many extra little luxuries; Janet & John went the extra mile always to make us feel welcome & offered very useful advice on the area. We stayed at many places during our 5+ weeks in South Africa & Porcupine Ridge was without question the best B&B we stayed in by far. We are recommending it to all friends & work colleagues- some of whom are considering coming to South Africa for the World Cup next year. Thank You so much Janet & John - you are the best!! "
