"What I loved about the villa, its spacious, clean and accomodating."
"I would not stay at this unit again. The photo's of the patio were misleading. The photo's show only a part of the "patio", which is in fact only a balcony. I was not impressed. Also the tumble dryer was broken when we arrived and we had to wait like 3 days before it was fixed."
"We enjoyed our stay during Dec 2013- January 2014 at San Lameer. We did however feel that the unit was totally overpriced and felt ripped off upon our arrival. We paid R2500 per night (stayed 7 days) and expected a better equipped and more stylish unit. One would expect at least a 4 star standard for this rate per night. Some notes for Caron Horn:1.She advertises that the unit as fully equipped, but the unit doesnt have the basic items expected from a unit at this rate. Also, low standard of cutlery- you would for example only find one of a glass where a unit catering for 4 should at least have a full set; 2.The bed linen and curtains are old and the bed linen appears to be the original linen on the photo- white linen cannot stay white for years- the linen and curtains need a serious upgrade!! (Also, a kind size bed would be standard at this rate);3.There are lights in the unit that was not working; 4.The unit is advertised as serviced, yet she cannot supply her guests with toilet paper when the unit is serviced. I am certain that the R2500 per night could cover the 2 rolls @ R5.00 each! This has been shared with many of our friends and colleagues who label this as absolutely ridiculous;5.The owner expects us to pay her the gate access card @ R100 in addition to the rental, however the reception at San Lameer insisted that is was not charged for visitor guests. For this rate she can include it! Positives of this unit- it has aircon and the fridge is cold. In light of the above, we would be very reluctant to rent directly from an owner again as it would appear as if the owners have a very unrealistic idea of the value of their holiday homes. The villas are also very small and not private. Should we decide to return to San Lameer again we would only consider one of the houses on the golf course. For this rate per night I invite Caron to rent outside of San Lameer/ the South Coast and see what a unit at this rate has to offer."
