"138 Marine is a real beauty. The rooms are very comfortable and have all you need. I stayed in the Coral room which has limited sea views so if you want full sea views ask for a different room. You cannot get closer to the beach than this as you literally walk 20 steps over a narrow road and your can put your feet in the ocean. The breakfast was good and there was more than enough to fill you up for the day. Special mention must go to Desre, she truly went out of her way to make my stay extra special. Thank you very much."

"Louis and Jena were the most welcoming hosts we have ever had. The house is virtually on the sea and it was such a pleasure to sit on the balcony and look over the sea as far as the eye could see. The staff was very friendly and the rooms very clean and our bed superb. The breakfasts were wonderful, with every morning something else to eat. Louis told us which restaurants was the best and they even booked it for us. Jena went to great efforts with the interior decoration of the house. I will definitely recommend this guesthouse to my friends."

"Very good stay - Sandbaai is an excellent place to stay, close to Hermanus yet away from the crowds. The house is spacious, stylish, safe and comfortable. Views from the balcony were special."

"We stayed in the nicely laid out (semi-detached) family room in early December 2008. The bed linen was lovely, the bathroom very modern and there were even toys for kids stored in the cupboard! There is no sea view from the family room, but in the main building/breakfast room, all the walls facing the ocean are mostly glass and make for fantastic viewing of the super sunsets in the area! Breakfast was very nice and the owners helpful. The internet was free, there was ample parking available and lots of coffee-table books on the locality to read and magazines in the room. The only problem we had with the room was on the first night - the shower didnt drain fast enough and we flooded the bathroom floor a bit, though this was fixed by the following day. Only advice we have to offer others is use the safe provided in the room!"

"We arrived earlier on the Friday afternoon to be greeted by a homely site ... grocery shopping ... and knew we would not be staying in a 'stiff' establishment, but one where you were free to let your hair hang loose! Jena and Louis Raubenheimer were like mom and dad figures ... ensuring that our every need was met. The view was fantastic (we had the best room in the house - Oyster) and the little touches were unbelievable ... again blown away when we received the weather report for the next day with our bed turned down.Thank you once again for the hospitality. Whoever needs to feel loved and pampered, this is definitely the place of choice! We will most certainly be back soon!"
