  • "Pleasantly surprised"

    24 October 2016

"We had a lovely stay. We had a newly renovated family room which had a stunning view of the lagoon and beach. There is so much to do for kids! We unfortunately only stayed 1 night so couldn't try everything out! The breakfast was first class! Staff put on an amazing spread of everything you could want at breakfast! The staff in general were very friendly!! There are renovations in progress at the hotel, but this didn't worry us, but we did stay on the weekend so there weren't many workers around.<br/>We will go here again."

  • "Bad experience!!!!"

    13 October 2014

"What an experience. We got there on Saturday afternoon after friends of mine asked us to join them although we were booked for the weekend at San La Meer! We cancelled our 1 night with San La Meer and went there. If I knew then what I know now I would have stayed in San La Meer. We got there had to park away from the entrance. Yes we were expecting renovations but this is terrible. How can they let people stay there? You walk past about 30 rooms in which they are working, there is no windows or any doors. The wind was blowing like mad. Contractors with wheelbarrows walking past you in the passage. Electric cables lying on the floors in water. Any building inspectors dream. When we got to our room, last one in the passage, we were also stunned. Old furniture which was painted white. 2 single beds in the room. I honestly dont know. The windows are dirty when you look out of the window even the garden looks terrible. The train line is by your window and there it looks even more terrible. We did not stay. To pay R1040.00 for a place for us to sleep under these circumstances is unacceptable. Blue Marlin can learn from San La Meer where we paid R 880.00 for the night and had a wonderful time."

  • "Unpleasant experience"

    08 April 2014

"Hotel under renovations. First room we were given had a serious water problem - dark brown tap water. Moved to another room. Had filthy bathroom curtains falling off the rail and plastic dustbin with missing lid. Carpets grubby. Floor tiles sticky from soap. Beds clean and comfortable. Service fair. Had to pay R200 refundable deposit for a tv remote, R100 for a hairdryer and R50 for a gate key to access the beach. Breakfast adequate. Do not stay there until renovations are complete. At the price of plus minus R1040 per night for a room for 2 people, its just not good enough!"

  • "BLUE MARLIN HOTEL"

  • "NIce place"

    24 June 2013

"We only stayed one night and although the hotel is very old and the rooms are all over the place. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served and very nicely. Love the fact that there is a cute little pub right there too."

  • "The most horrible place"

    28 January 2013

"The most horrible, worndown hotel, we have ever visited! Incompetent management, who did not know, what they have offered!"

  • "Mixed feelings"

    01 January 2013

"The food is fantastic but the building desperately requires a revamp. The bed is so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor. Christmas evening we had no water in the rooms and by the time we checked out on the 26th there was still no water to wash or flush toilets. The hotel staff made no effort to keep residents up to date on developments and no effort was made to source water for washing or flushing of toilets. I honestly feel that the cost of this stay should have cost half of what we paid."

  • "Tired old hotel"

    20 November 2012

"Rooms are OK. Meals are so so, was expecting better. The outside of the building/s need painting. Very shabby.Garden in front of dining room needs a good bit of garden maintenance.TV in room 107 needs channels to be reset.Zulu bar needs to be open on Saturday evenings."

  • "Wonderful"

    26 September 2012

"A really wonderful experience. The staff were amazing, the food was good and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Just one small problem was the outside appearance of the premises that need urgent attention."
