  "We arrived at Tancredi (Saturday the 5th just after 13:00), only to be told that they had no record of our booking. After showing proof of payment and the booking reference number etc we were told our room wasn't yet available. So we asked for an alternative as we had one hour to get ready and get to a wedding and could not wait. After much confusion we were eventually taken to the room we had booked. All four walls had such bad cracks running from the floor to the ceiling that it is a miracle the place is still standing. These were not just surface paint cracks, but structural cracks running where the brickwork has failed due to an overloaded or incorrectly addressed stress load. Cracks along the edges of the lintels for the windows where evident. Curtains were hanging half hooked and could easily be pulled off the walls. The pictures used to display this B&B where bright, light and very welcoming. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures. Besides these points, the room was clean enough. We woke up to no water the next day. When we went and asked what the problem could be we were answered very vaguely and after 40minutes they still had not been to check what the issue was. Breakfast was minimal, the fruit was cut into the smallest pieces, and was maybe a slice of apple, half a slice of pineapple, and a slice of banana, at the most. The tiny pieces of fruit where also half brown when served. They had no muffins and they offered no alternatives. The eggs were average, there was two baby button mushroom cooked and served on the plate, again cut into the tiniest of pieces. Dismal to say the least."

  "I booked a one night stay for my elderly aunt and uncle at Tancredi for an overnight stay when they attended a PMB wedding. They loved it! Ann was a warm and welcoming hostess and they loved the decor and attention to detail and cleanliness in the whole B&amp;B and especially their room. A&nbsp; delicious Sunday breakfast too.   "After a long day of travelling Tancredi was exactly the place I needed. Ann was a wonderful, friendly hostess, and late check in and early check out was no problems. I loved all of the attention to details and the rusks and chocolates in the room were a nice treat. It is well located within PMB city, parking is safe and secure. Being quite a stressful trip, my comfortable blue room had a lovely calming effect."

  "Tancredi does not feel like a B & B, it is like visiting your favourite Aunt. We were made to feel as part of Ann's family and immediately felt settled and at home. Wonderful breakfasts and lots of relaxation on the back porch overlooking the pool.We will definetely make this our Pietermaritzburg home when next in town. Ann's knowledge of the area really helped us find our feet as first time Midlands travellers."
