Sweet Orange Guesthouse

With a clear vision, the newly-renovated Sweet Orange re-opened in September 2022 under new management and strives to give guests from around the world a boutique and curated, local living stay in Cape Town. Loads of natural light fill the rooms and a perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring.

The rooms can accommodate two people each and can be booked with either a king-sized bed or twin beds. Each of the rooms has a seating area, a Smart TV with complimentary Netflix, free and strong Wi-Fi access, a stocked mini-bar fridge, a snack, and complimentary water. Clean and fresh linen, towels, and hairdryers will ensure a very comfortable stay.

The guesthouse has indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and the tranquil garden offers an inviting swimming pool and seating where guests can relax. A laundry service, and airport transfers can be arranged on request.

While walking along the wooden floors of this house, you cant help but wonder about those who have walked before you in the last 100+ years. By honoring the Victorian heritage of the house, and mixing it up with a modern design, Sweet Orange will give you a true and unique Mother City experience.

  • "A wonderful B&B"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Sweet Orange. The staff are all so friendly, helpful, and very professional. The house is decorated beautifully and we enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyard for breakfast each morning. The location could not get any better! It's within short walking distance to 2 of our favourite restaurants in Sea Point: La Boheme and La Perla. Not to mention the seawall which is totally safe to walk along to watch the sunset. A few cons: the pool didn't get much sun during the day so it was freezing cold and only good for a quick plunge, and there was construction (or a car workshop, we never did find out) nearby and it was noisy during the day. My fiance and I have also stayed at The Sweet Olive and we honestly preferred that property (only a few block away), it feels more like a 5 star for the same price. For one thing, the bathroom is about 3 times the size. However, if the Sweet Olive isn't available, definitely go ahead and book at the Sweet Orange. You won't regret it."

  • "Such a Sweet Stay"

"We have just had a most enjoyable stay at Sweet Orange Guest House in Cape Town. The staff were very pleasant and helpful from picking us up at the airport to dropping us off at the end of our stay. The Guest House was very homely and welcoming, our room was very pretty with spotlessly clean bedding and towels.<br/>Breakfast was very enjoyable even on the mornings we could not eat outside in the quiet garden. We would certainly stay at Sweet Orange if we return to Cape Town."

  • "Quiet and friendly"

"Great location to avoid the noise of the City Bowl. Rooms a little small but pretty. Lovely breakfasts on the terrace and an honesty bar in the kitchen. We were too busy to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the garden. Good value for Cape Town. Recommended."

  • "My first visit in South Africa, Cape Town"

"Sweet Orange has a friendly, cosy and informal atmosphere. S.O. has a lovely breakfast with possibilities to eat in the garden or outside. The hosts and personnel are very helpful. It is well located even if you haven´t a car. The beach, good walks and the sights are not far away. Even walking you easily get , for instance, to V&A Waterfront. The pool is not for swimming its more for cooling off."
