  • "Nice stay"

    14 November 2013

"We received a warm welcome and had a good stay, even though our visit was very short and hardly spent time in the house."

  • "Comfortably basic"

    24 January 2013

"Good location and well equipped rooms. Self catering is limited. Very hot in summer and difficult to keep cool in the evenings with no windows, only sliding door. Ceiling fans or air conditioning or even just trellidoors on the sliding doors would be a great addition! Lovely friendly owners always willing to help! Great breakfast."

"We had a lovely time at Shiraz the breakfast was up to standard thanks to the three ladies who were so nice to us, but my concerns are as follows the place needs to install airconditions, manage the ants problems."

  • "Shiraz Guest House"

    31 October 2012

"The room was clean and pleasant, if a little small. No soap in the bathroom, except for a liquid soap dispenser. Fortunately I brought my own. Cupboard adequate, but no hangers for trousers (only for dresses/jerseys etc.) Breakfast of very mixed quality. I am allergic to peppers. On first day, breakfast dish was an omelette filled with peppers. On the second day it was a cold slab of scrambled egg. Options for self-service were very limited. Cereals were porridge(OK, but I am diabetic and all packs contained sugar), fruit loops(sugared)or corn flakes. Spreads were jam (sugared), peanut butter(sugared), Marmite (not my favourite) and Chilli Bovril (allergic to chilli). Bacon and egg breakfast on the third day was fine. Instant coffee was poor quality and undrinkable. Toast was served cold. I was asked what time I would like breakfast each day, and appeared at that time, so cold food was not acceptable. The B&B accommodation was 'jerry built', and parking, though secure, was inadequate. Reception service was pleasant, warm and friendly, in spite of the above."
