  • "A very beautiful but quite neglected place"

    08 May 2017

"Let me start with the positive feedback first - the place is really beautiful - the cottages, the view, the area. I would also say that the price is very reasonable if everything was working as planned. But... We actually faced quite a few challenges with staying at Ylang Beach Lodge. We arrived with 2 small kids on a Sunday late afternoon and there is no one at the property who would let us in. This was a really difficult situation - we tried calling the number on the booking form but there was no response. We had to go to a hotel for the night with the kids - a very bad experience! Only on the next day we managed to contact the lady who was staying in one of the cottages and she let us in. She was extremely friendly and helpful but not able to decide on anything as she was just a friend of the owners taking care of the property while they were away. There were other disappointments as well - the cottage was not properly cleaned before we arrived - the cupboards were really dirty. There was no Wi Fi although SafariNow still says there is. There was no hot water in the first day, etc..."

  • "Beautiful view over-shadowed by poor management."

    01 May 2017

"Ylang Beach Lodge is surely one of the most beautiful places, but this was over-shadowed by poor organisation of the management. When we arrived on Sunday, there was no-one on site and we had to phone the people and then drive around Salt Rock looking for the key. The guest room was covered with black bags on the floor and a filthy drop cloth over the bed. Our gate remote didn't work and we had to wait until the next day to be able to swop remotes with the cleaner. The mentioned amneties like wi-fi, tv with dstv, hair dryer and deep freezer wasn't available. By Thursday the gate was giving problems again and Friday we were late for our snorkeling because we couldn't get out of the premises and there was no-one around to help. According to the information we recieved our towels and linen were suppossed to be changed by the 5th day- this did not happen. Even worse, the guests staying in the other cottage didn't even have electricy. No arrangements were made with us to tell us where to leave the key etc. Such a pity that this amazing place isn't run better."

  • "Cosy and Comfy!"

    22 February 2016

"we stayed at Frangipani. A small and cosy studio which is perfect for a couple needing a quick getaway. The owners and staff were really humble, pleasant, helpful and friendly. The views were absolutely breathtaking from the communal viewing deck/ platform. With the semi private beach literally on your doorstop, ylang beach lodge really was a great choice!"

  • "Beach Paradise"

    11 January 2016

"We stayed in the lovely Frangipani studio. Beautiful views and sufficiently furnished for a small family. The pool was a welcomed relief after a hot, humid day."

  • "March 2015"

    21 April 2015

"What a gem - Ylang Beach Lodge was everything we hoped for. Access to a great beach which for most of our 3 day visit was empty except for us, large rock pools perfect for children to mess about in and loads of sand for chasing crabs and building sandcastles. Swallow Cottage was decorated to a high standard and was very comfortable with fabulous views, we watched dolphins hunting off the headland whilst having our breakfast.<br />Hosts were very helpful and accommodating, should we have the opportunity we would definitely return, many thanks"

  • "Recent Visit"

    09 January 2015

"My family and I (all 8 of us) had a wonderful stay at Ylang Beach Lodge. The accommodation is spacious and clean with superb views over the pool to the sea. We were looked after very well and recommend this idyllic location with direct access to the beach. Seeing the dolphins everyday was an added bonus."

  • "Lovely hide away"

    06 November 2014

"What a lovely place and great owners . We had a week of rock pooling and sandcastles with our three year old son on the beach just down the cliff steps. All rooms are beautifully presented and they have put a lot of thought into the guests comfort. We cannot wait to go back in the New Year a real treasure."

  • "Sublime to the ridiculous"

    24 March 2014

"What a wonderful hideaway! We had the cottage next to the swimming pool(s) and had to make a decision each day on whether to swim in pool 1, pool 2 or the sea, or lie in bed and just look at the view. We did all of the above. :-) Beautifully understated - and we enjoyed being visted each day by the resident dogs that decided to show us the way to the beach and spend hours wandering around the rocks pools and watching the waves with us. Coffee in the morning watching the sunrise was sublime! The view is ridiculous! We will be back soon."
