The lodge enjoys a privileged location, providing a front-row seat to observe the awe-inspiring Southern Right whales that frolic and give birth along these shores throughout most of the year, often accompanied by playful dusky dolphins. • "The most beautiful place on earth!"

    03 August 2005

"I spent a weekend at the Oystercatcher Lodge and it was absolutely amazing. Luc and Sue were born to host....I have no doubt in my mind. From the friendly welcome, the beautiful decor, the 'loud' silence broken only by the sound of the see outside, the delicious breakfast and the Cattle Barron restaurant, it was all just perfect. My weekend stay was therapeutic to my soul and I would recommend the lodge to anyone. I think every South African should visit the lodge at least once, that way we'll have a much calmer society. They deserve more than 4 stars for service alone, so if anyone has a spare star or two kindly send it to Luc and Sue please.
