"The exterior looked old, but the interior was well appointed and looked as if it may have been refurbished recently. The restaurant was not available, but Greg contacted and booked a restaurant in the town for us. This alternative (Buckley's) was very nice."
"The room is spacious with kitchen neccesities for a self catering place. However it was sooooo cold as there was no heater. I would have opted to pay extra for the heater cos it's not nice being cold."
"Lovely meal with great flavour and homemade ice cream. Comfortable, well appointed room. Problem with bedside light fixed immediately."
"Room was clean and neat. There are a few maintenance issues:1. Window handle broken off, threfore window cannot be locked.2. Loose zink tap.3. Insufficient towel drying rails in bathroom."
"We were disappointed with Smithfield , but our stay at Lazy Likkewaan was very pleasant . Restaurant was a treat - delicious dinner and the house so interesting with the books and pictures . Felt that there should have been tea , coffee, milk and rusks in the room , which was very comfortable and clean"
"We had a great time at the Lazy Likkewaan, I would highly recommend this establishment! Great stay, great food, and great people!"
"Greg & Alistair are excellent hosts.<div>Rooms are clean, comfortable and reasonable value for money</div><div>Highlights are the dinner - interesting food, service & company, and the bookshop.</div><div>Will always stay there if in the vicinity.</div>"
"My husband and I stayed one night en route from Bloemfontein to PE. A suitable stay! Clean room, everything we needed, and the host invited us to have dinner in his restaurant - a good home cooked meal! We will definitely stay there again."
"Hosted by Greg who is most accommodating and Celia - so friendly. Splendid Chicken Thai of note. Recommended as a stay and visit for. travellers. Thank you once again."
"<p>We really enjoyed our stay - the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and our hosts, Greg and Alistair, were welcoming and so hospitable, and went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. The food was wonderful - we recommend the Moroccan Lamb;,it was delicious, as was the homemade ice cream which followed. The music Greg chose for us enhanced a wonderful meal. Thank you guys - we will be back!</p>"
"Should you arrive late, we suggest you call early and notify the owner. We had car trouble and phoned really late to notify them. By that time, they thought we were not coming any more, and gave away our room which was fully paid for when we made the booking. The owner did feel bad about it and organised another room for us. He tried to make up with it buy giving us free dinner and free breakfast. It really wasn't necessary as we were just so exhausted and stressed, that anything would have really done. The staff is really friendly and amazingly helpful. They take time to tell you what is happening in the area. This place is highly recommended especially if you like the Avand Garde feel. There is a lot of caring and their home made ice cream with real fruit is of the best. It must to try. The guest house has a restaurant (stop there for a meal if you can) with a bookshop, etc. located next to it. Really interesting books can be found there. I highly recommend a stay at this very interesting and exciting house."
"The accommodation is basic but very clean and comfortable. The owners were always available and eager to please. It is an ideal overnight stop. And the three course dinner at the adjoining Lekker Likkewaan unlicensed restaurant was delicious, out of the ordinary and extremely well priced. Again the owner and his staff were ever attentive. We will definitely stay here again!"
"Great value, quiet and peaceful, very comfortable and great stopover."
"The venue was good value for money with all the required facilities. We arrived late and were warmly welcomed. Could use improved cleaning in hidden area as my family moved furniture around to make it comfortable for our 1 year old."
"I must say how very impressed I was. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and I had a wonderful shower with great water pressure and there was plenty of hot water. I will definitely stay there again when I am back that way as it is basically half way between Johannesburg and East London. The hosts were great and very helpful."
"On our arrival which was after 10pm they were very accommodating and Cicilia the helper lady even switched on the electric blacket for us prior to our arrival which was very much appreciated. All in all it was real value for money. You will we seeing us again.Regards, Darryl & Monique"
