Inkwazi Beach Camp is a self-catering rustic camp situated in Sodwana Bay. We are three km from the beach and at night you can hear the waves breaking and wake up with the call of the fish eagle. Inkwazi has grown into a family orientated camp with 3 wooden Villas and 1 Chalet. The communal kitchen is fully equipped with fridges and freezers. There are also braai facilities, a boma and a large lapa as well as a clean ablution block. No pets are allowed. The camp sleeps a total of 12 people.
"We booked and paid for Chalet 2 at Inkwazi Beach Camp, yet we were directed to stay at another place on arrival. On the website, the chalet is advertised as having a fan, boma with braai facilities a big stoep/porch and a hair dryer. In reality, the chalet had no fan and no hair dryer. The room with the queen sized bed in had no window (dark and no natural ventilation) and zero privacy. Any car entering/exiting the property at nights shines their headlights directly into the bedrooms. The chalet is directly facing the public road and the vehicle entrance gate to a private house. A table is placed in the sand next to the driveway. There is no indoor/under cover place to eat and only 1 x couch for indoor seating area. There is no boma/braai area as advertised on the website - just a portable braai placed in the sand next to the driveway. There are 4 dogs on the property (2 large and 2 small) that entered the chalet on multiple occasions and had to constantly be told to "get out". The dogs and the uninviting braai facility made rethink all our braai plans. Basic services, such as where to put a full dustbin bag and get a replacement dustbin bag, had to be arranged with the owners. There is no space to hang wet towels or swimming clothes to dry. The chalet was adequate for 3 people (2 adults and 1 x 15 year old). 6 people could stay there are a stretch for a short period of time and if the weather is good and outdoor eating/sitting is possible. The hosts were friendly and assisted within the limits of what was possible."
"The gate access could be improved Having a remote control would be great"
"We based ourselves here for 3 nights to do some diving with Coral Divers. Its location is ideal as you are just outside of the park, therefore avoiding the hefty KZN overnight charges as well as the iSimangaliso daily gate entry fees. We were able to drive just 15 minutes and park just before the gate, and then walk 5 minutes to meet the rest of the group at the beach location for the dives. There are also a few places nearby to eat, a small grocery shop and not too far away is also the bigger town with supermarkets. We recommend eating at the Lighthouse, or Ingunis was also quite good.Having stayed elsewhere in Sodwana before, I rate the accommodation quite well in comparison! The rooms are small and quite warm, but there is a small fan provided and we never felt overly warm at night. We had shared ablutions which were always clean, the showers running on a gas system could be a bit temperamental but we still always manages to get a hot shower (sooner or later!). The room was nicely decorated with good shelving given the size, bed was comfortable and there is a small veranda with two chairs outside. The communal kitchen area is well done, each room has their own station including cutlery, crockery, cooking facilities & fridge so no need to fight for space or over food! There is also a braai/fire area but we did not actually cook at any point.A couple of points for improvement - some guests were playing quite loud music until around 10pm or after, maybe just asking them to be polite and a little less noisy for consideration of other guests as we were having early mornings each day and quite tired after diving! The showers could be better, also putting shower heads on all the showers might be nice.Overall the owners were very accommodating and allowed us to check out a bit later on the last day so we could come back and shower after our dive. Very friendly and a great place to stay, thanks!"
Sal defnitief aanbeveel!</p><p></p>"
"If you like camping this is a step up from camping because you have your own hut but share ablution and kitchen facilities. The kitchen is fully equipped and unlike camping you can just pack your personal stuff. The Kitchen and Bathrooms were always clean. The owners are very friendly. I would stay there again."
"Nice place to stay. Unfortunately bedding was very dusty."
"Unforgettable - that's how I would describe our weekend. Thank you Mariette and Marius for a wonderful time. God bless and take care."

"A friend and I just needed an overnight stay before travelling back to Gauteng. Inkwazi Beach Camp offered this and more. Close to Sodwana Bay and the Lake Sibaya, which is a must-see, it has a relaxed atmosphere and good hosts through Marius and his wife Mariette. Thanks!"
"Absolutely great. It was the first time in a bush camp for my Spanish partner. She loved it too."
"We spent three nights. A nice place with nice people."
"Very pleasant. Mariette & Marius the perfect hosts plus it is affordable. Close to the town and the beach. Ablution clean and tidy."
