Sea Escapes Cabins and Cottages

Experience the magic of Sodwana Bay above and below the waves at Sea Escapes. The pristine coastal forests are bordered by naturally vegetated dunes that shelter golden beaches. Washed by the warm Indian Ocean current, offering exceptional snorkelling and scuba diving, we are privileged to share this underwater paradise with the many sea creatures.

Guests have a choice of staying in the double cabins with private outdoor shower facilities or the family cottages and can be assured of comfort and personal attention.

The Lodge is easily accessible, just off the main Mbazwana/Sodwana road and 10 km from the main beach. Sea Escapes is perfectly located for guests who want to base themselves in the heart of this pristine area and further explore the region.

As the African sun sets, guests can enjoy sundowners beside the pool, exchange stories around the campfire to the sound of African drums and the sizzling meat on the braai. International and local eco-tourists will enjoy the distinct ecosystems and prolific animal, bird and plant life. We are within 100 km of various game reserves such as Phinda Game Reserve, Tembe Elephant Park, Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve, Ndumu Game Reserve, and Mkuze Game Reserve. Lake Sibiya, Kosi Bay, Border Cave and other exceptional areas are also close by, but are unfortunately only accessible by a 4x4 vehicle. Tours can however be arranged.

"The place is so remote and quiet. Its ideal when you want a break from the town's hustle and bustle. Bird life is booming here. The shade from the forest caps it all.On improvements, an extra blanket will do especially on cold nights"

"We lost alot of money..We did not stay at this venue.1st, they need to put up more signs to show people where to go.2nd, they need to let people know that its not really suttable to drive with a car, its a sand road and the cars struggle to drive on sand.I would never ever recomend this venue to people driving with a car. "Not as appealing as the pictures, if you like roughing it, then it's great, the cabin with the shower outside is very small and no space to put your things and the shower and toilet are under the stars, I think it would be lovely in summer but winter it's just to cold, the beach is a good 10kms from the place and it's mainly for diving so not the best for kids! If you looking for cheap accommodation and are keen on diving then ok but not much to do!"

"Janice is a very pleasant person but Toad tree cabins will never see me again. firstly the photo's on the page is misleading. I have killed a spider on the Monday and it was lying on the floor the day when we left still after they clean every morning your Cabin. we had a very quiet stay until the Thursday when Coral Reef divers from Volksrust arrived. they we drinking and was very load until 2 in the morning. we could not use the communial kitchen or braai as they are regular visitors and they did not worry if there are other people that need to use it. Friday the same story they were very load until Janice come and ask me to join the drinker and partiers. I said no thank you as we come to rest not drink till 2 in the morning.when we want to shower we did not have any hot water reason for the Coral reef divers kids was playing in the shower for about and half and hour We come home one day earlier losing our money because of people that do not take other people in considerations. I would rather book in to Sodwana bay lodge next time when I go to Sodwana. So the 10'clock rule that they applied here at Toad Tree cabins do not apply if you are not a diver"

"We were extremely disappointed by our experience at<em style="color: #002060; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; background-color: #ffffff;">Toad Tree Cabins.</em>Our accommodation was barely tolerable & nothing like the pictures portrayed. The kitchen had the oldest, minimum items, & the gas for the stove leaked very badly every time we needed to cook. The shower head fell off. Janice was not at all hospitable. We left a day early without so much as a rise of an eyebrow or a "Why?"<div>Spending that many SA rands I felt royally ripped off. </div>"

"Was nice and Rustic. Perfectly relaxing for what we wanted. The bungalows were clean and comfortable. Fire wood was provided free of charge. Lindsey was an excellent host and knew his Scuba Diving story. Unfortunately we did not have time for more dives! Will return again next time in SA."

"As two pensioners, Elise and I found it at Sea Escapes which we used as our base camp. We drove up and down, see all the lakes we could see, down to St Lucia and up to Ponta do Oura in Maputo. In the evenings we joined the young crowd and had a jol with them around the camp fire. Thank you to Lindsay and Janice for being such wonderful hosts, helpful and assisting in everything possible. Thank you Lindsay for braaing for us the last night and the nice chat around the camp fire and Janice for organising to courier me my "left behind jewelry" to me, which I most sincerely appreciated. You guys are great. Hope to meet with you again in the future."

"I could not get to the cottage with my sedan without getting stuck in the sand. There is no grass road as advertised on-line. I only stayed one night and booked out. Noisy and kitchen was not clean."
