Set in the thick of the Zululand bush, within minutes of Sodwana Bays protected waters and sweeping sandy beaches, Umdobi Bush Camp offers you a quiet escape that is almost untouched by the modern world.
Located on historical land, the setting is priceless and campsites lie evenly distributed between the sturdy trees, indigenous fauna and long grass. The beauty of this campsite is that you are camping in the bush but a day at the beach is just 15.5km away from you.
Umdobi Bush Camp is equipped with all the essentials; hot and cold running showers, flush toilets, power points. The beauty in what Umdobi Bush Camp offers lies in its quiet, peaceful and tranquil setting. Umdobi Bush Camp is the only campsite in the Sodwana area that can offer guests a truly private camping experience, without being packed on top of one another.
NOTE: If your vehicle is very low, you might struggle in the sand road (last 1.2km) to us. The road is also narrow and your trailer or caravan might get a new scratch or two. You don't need a 4 x 4, but you will need to deflate your tyres a bit, for better access.

"Absolutely everything at Umdobi was fantastic. We even stayed an extra night. Own private ablution and kitchen facility at our campsite. Campsite 3 was very private, lovely trees and well protected from the wind. It was spacious. Miems and Daniel were superb hosts. In close proximity to all major attractions."
"Not for people who like drinking late and making noise so if you have that in mind head elsewhere as this place is for the quiet people"
"hierdie is n baie lekker kamp plek in die bos.Die eienaars gaan uit hulle pad om gasvry te wees, en dan ook jou privaatheid te respekteer.bakamers kan so n bietjie opgradeer word(teels op die vloere ens.)en die water toevoer is n probleem.waterdruk is nie genoeg nie en maak dat die badkamers partykeer sonder water is terwyl jy stort.Ek sal die plek sterk aanbeveel vir iemand wat n boskamp sal geniet."
"Camp site. Nice and private and large stand. Swimming pool dirty the whole stay. Think it might be that pump does not run long enough. Generator not running long enough. Need 3 hours in morning and 3 at night to keep meat frozen. Hosts friendly and helpful."
"Very friendly and helpful host! Very nice and convenient place to stay for people who love the bush and quiet place. Thank you!"
"Rustige en baie mooi omgewing. Sanchi sal uit haar pad gaan om te help waar sy kan!<div><br /></div>"
"<span style="widows: 1;">What a wonderful that we had at Umdobi felt more like visiting family than a vacation. We were well taken care off including iur puppy who also enjoyed extra doggy attention from Keags. He even pet sitted while we went to the beach and shops which was awesome for us since we wanted to experience how holiday with our Liza. We experienced awesome weather til our last night where we had not anticipated the cold cover; Shanti didn't even bat an eye on bring is a blanket for extra warmth in the tent. I am forever grateful for our choice and happy to have met such a fantastic family. We will definitely be going back soon and recommend Umdobi to any traveller, whether a beginner camper or not you will enjpy yourself 200%</span>"
"Very friendly, beautiful bush surrounding you and absolute peace and quiet. Could not have stayed at a better place. Even our puppy had a great time. Recommend it to everyone!"
"Our stay at Umdobi was really great!<div>We took our dog with and he had the time of his life. We could leave him at the camp while we went diving which was very convenient.</div><div><br /></div><div>The owners are very friendly and the camp itself is great. A real bushveld experience.</div>"
"Our recent stay at Umdobi Bush Camp was shortened due to us being disappointed by facilities that were advertised but not met. After a rainstorm the tent leaked, bed stretchers were small and uncomfortable, electricity cuts to often, no power point in ablution and certainly not the peaceful environment that was assured when making the booking.<br><b>Establishment's Response:</b><br><i>We advertise that we run off generators and I will give a clearer description on SafariNow as to how and when the generators run. We advertised a plug point at each campsite, these work when the generator is running. When the Ingram's arrived I did inform them as to how the electricity worked and that we would run the generator during the day at their convenience. The generator runs in the morning and the afternoon according to the demands of the guests. The generator then runs from sunset to 9pm. Each campsite is supplied with 2 paraffin lamps so that the guests have lights at the campsite once the generator is switched off. The generator does not run all the time because we want to keep the noise level to a minimum. Umdobi has not advertised plug points in the ablutions. Umdobi is tranquil as it is situated on 3.5 hectares of bush and our nearest neighbours are more than 400 m away. The stretchers are camping stretchers and if the guests found them uncomfortable I do apologise. I wish the guests had informed me that the tent had leaked so that I could have inspected the tent instead of finding out about a leak through SafariNow. We value our guests input but cannot make improvement or fix any faults if we are not informed. What often happens in a tent is that if anything inside the tent (stretcher table etc) touches the canvas there will be water coming through. I still have not been able to locate the leak. I feel that Umdobi was not what the Ingram's were looking for but in no way should their expectations (very different from what we advertise and offer) put people off Umdobi, which is bush camp offering guests a getaway in the bush away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.</i>"
