If you need a brief escape from the rush and tensions of life then the Koperberg Guest House is the place for you. It is situated on a farm just outside Springbok on the R355 Airport Road and borders on the golf course. The small sheep farm is ringed by the glacier sculptured domes of the Kamiesberg Mountains and the hills where Simon van der Stel extracted copper ore in late 1685 can be seen from here.
In late winter and spring the flowers provide an unforgettable kaleidoscope of colours which is unique to Namaqualand. Stables are available for guests transporting horses.
There are two air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms that can accommodate five people sharing. A self-catering kitchen is available. The lounge is air-conditioned, has DStv premium; inside and outside braai facilities available. The cottage is a stand alone unit. Children and well-behaved pets are welcome and will enjoy watching the horses and little lambs. You could bring your own horse on holiday and explore the vastness of Namaqualand on horseback. Goegap Nature Reserve is close by with many different trails or book a guided trail.
"Crisp, clean, white bedding - winter sheets. Fresh air, bright stars - dirt road in a better condition than most tar roads - close enough to have supper in town. We felt safe."
"We loved Koperberg Guest House! Even though the flowers around Springbok were not as plentiful this year because of the drought, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pigs were delightful and the horses quite magnificent to watch! The guest house is close to Springbok as well as the Goegaps reserve, and we enjoyed experiencing farm life with all the comfort and facilities you would expect."
"Everything you need for a comfortable stay at a competitive price."
"What a lovely, peaceful weekend. The house was super-clean, the beds comfortable, the kitchen spacious and the showers a joy. Our host and hostess, Pieter and Sonja, were friendly and helpful. I will most certainly recommend this stay to everyone who wants a weekend of peace and quiet, hearing jackals call at night, of "farm" and nature. Absolutely great."
"Die wonderlike plaasatmosfeer was presies wat ons nodig gehad het - veral na so n lang tyd op die pad. Die lekker binne-braai was n bonus. Die huis is baie mooi gemeubileer ook - en baie ruim.<br/>"
"Nothing to be improved"
"Very well equipped, neat and clean. Well marked trails for exploring the farm. Friendly and informative hosts."
"My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay at Koperberg as one of our bases for our wild flower travels.<br/>The hosts were very friendly and the location of the guest house is good as it is just out of town on a working farm with nice walks and good birding at nearby municipal dams."
"We enjoyed our short stay. So peaceful away from the city buzz. You feel close to nature."
"Great stopover in Namaqualand <br/>Friendly and helpful hosts <br/>Facilities adequate"
"A very comfortable well equipped self catering cottage. Good value for money. Warm welcome from both owner and pets."
"We stayed over in Springbok on our way to Namibia. Our plans were delayed and we ended up arriving at the destination at 1 in the morning. Through all of this Niekie was very hospitable and still met us with a friendly face even though we had bothered her at midnight for directions to the house. On top of that we were treated to a bargain breakfast the next morning... Absolutely fantastic hostess. The views are incredible and the farm atmosphere is very relaxing. Just what we needed before hitting the long road the next day."
"Great views and location. Facilities may not be five stars but if you are looking for a nice and queit place to relax over the weekend then this may be your place."
"We enjoyed our stay at Koperberg Guest House.<div>It was our first visit to that part of the country but our hostess could not provide us with any information of places to visit.</div><div>The internal braai facilities also did not work for us because the whole cottage was filled with smoke so we decided not to use it again.<br /><br /><strong>Establishment response: <br /></strong><div><em><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial;">We are sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. </span></em></div><em> </em><div><em><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial;">However, we are also perturbed and find it very strange that you did not notice the stack of district maps and magazines with articles and lots of information on our area that was laying on the book shelve in our cottage.</span></em></div><em> </em><div><em><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial;">These maps indicate flower routes, highlighting the Namaqua National Park near Kamieskroon, the Goegab Nature Reserve, which is situated less than 10 km from where you stayed.
