For walking and hiking enthusiasts, there are numerous walks from easy strolls along the 4.5 km beach to longer hikes through indigenous coastal scrub, through the dunes of the Sand River and along the Wild Side of Cape St Francis. Birdwatchers will be kept twitching with the abundant and varied bird life. The Kromme River estuary is frequented by numerous waders, and the surrounding bush and farmlands are home to various endemic species. Guided birding tours can be arranged.
