  "The buildings are looking good from outside so we were really disappointed to see that the inside of the rooms is not up to standard. The bedding was old and therefor one had not a good feeling to sleep on it. No hot water."

  "Upon our arrival the owner reeked of alcohol. He insisted that the outstanding balance be settled in cash, after he confirm telephonically of card facilities. One of our families cancelled their booking 24 hours prior to arrival. We paid the full outstanding amount as requested. On the Monday the owner received a new booking for the remaining 5 days and reimburse us only an amount of R3300.00. The owner was partially paid double for that unit as only two days went lost from our booking. When we requested him to switch on the geyser he informed us only the that the geyser is running on a timer. Some of us never had the privilege of a hot shower. He immediately treated us with a very rude and disappointing attitude and it seems that he did us a huge favour for reimbursing us the R3300.00. We were not informed prior to our arrival about the cleaning fee and the deposit, which is disappointing because the apartments were filthy, we could not even use the spoons and bought our own. We needed to scrub and sanitize the other utensils before use. There was also a lot of small crawling insects and mould in the showers. The apartments also do not have DSTV as advertised but Openview TV."

  "We had a wonderful stay at Balaena Vista. The only thing i would say is that they can maybe put a gate where the entrance is to the holiday cottage. The place is very nice but to open because you never know when a thief will strike. The best part i loved of our weekend was the pool. The water was nice not cold perfect getaway."

  "If 'back to basics'/ no luxuries attached, is what you're looking for, this is the ideal place. No linen changes or cleaning services are provided. The pool area is small and under-developed. Not ideal for any entertainment. Serves as base to sleep and visit surrounding towns - nothing else."

  "Our family stayed for seven nights. The two-bedroom unit were good although the rooms were a little small and no laundry facilities. The swimmingpool was great to cool down in after a long hot day sightseeing in the surrounding area. A good, quiet location to daily explore the West Coast down to Langebaan and up to Lambertsbaai. Thank you."

  "Great spot to spend a weeekend and the pool was a welcome attraction after a hot day exploring the West Coast. Rooms are small but functional and comfortable. Everything you need for a stay is provided. A fan in the room would have been nice on one of the hot evenings. I will definitely stay here again."

  "We were disturbed by a very high noise transmission between adjacent rooms. Felt the daily cost was high considering that there were no carpets in the bedrooms (only painted cement floors). The bathroom wash hand basin only had a cold water tap. No curtain for the front lounge windows/sliding door. The management team were however accommodating and moved us away from our very noisy neighbours."

  "Good place to stay for a very relaxing break-away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Well set up apartment would only have preferred the TV in the bedroom. Really appreciated the fact that my Great Dane was allowed to accompany me. Will definitely go back again and refer friends looking for accommodation of a high standard."
