Aardvark Accomodation is set in the small Karoo town of Steytlerville. This beautifully restored Victorian house still holds the old-world charm that the town embodies.

The house has three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge and a bathroom. The comfortably furnished house has a floral lounge suite and an old wooden dining room table. The signature part of the house is the crest displaying the original date the house was built, as well as the large wrap-around patio that twirls halfway around the house, providing ample space to relax outside in the shade on a hot day.

This sleepy town is the north-eastern gateway to Baviaans Kloof and is the home of many architectural gems. Due to its small size, many of the houses are well preserved and have escaped expansionism. Steytlerville has become popular amongst artists.

"The accommodation was adequate but not what I expected. The geyser was off so when we arrived after the days traveling we had to boil water in the kettle over and over to bath our small children. Also there are barely enough knives and forks etc which is really frustrating when you are preparing meals. The kettle, toaster and microwave is all balanced on top of the fridge which is dangerous and difficult inconvenient. Not all of the plugs work in the house which was also irritating but probably would not have frustrated us as much if everything else was not quite so cheaply done/furnished. Establishment's response We put the electricity and geysers off if there are nobody in the house. I asked the guests then to put it on, because we are on the farm.Its only about a hour to get warm water. The kettle and microwave and toaster are supposed to be on the cupboard next to the fridge. When we cleaned the house afterwards I put it there again. I believe that the staff put it there when they cleaned the house previously. I am very sorry for your inconvenience."

"We had a fantastic weekend. Friendly reception and very friendly neighbours. Beautiful, quiet and clean town. We will make use of the same accommodation with our next visit to this historic town."
