  • "There is no TV's at the Manor"

    11 April 2017

"Peaceful and tranquil, great for stress relief. The Manor has an old worldly charm to it with it's four poster beds and Victorian style baths. The candles and fire places in the rooms add to the romantic feel. Our hosts Brett & Rosie were friendly and accommodating."

  • "Great hideaway in St Helena Bay"

    29 August 2016

"We stayed a night at Goblin Creek in August when we went up the West Coast to see the flowers. The house is in a lovely quiet spot at the end of the road, and when you wake up all you can hear is the birds singing in the beautiful, large garden behind the house. <br/><br/>The room was very comfortable and we were given such a warm welcome. We especially enjoyed meeting the chickens and other animals at breakfast the next day. We will definitely be back."

"<p>A stunning Guest House with beautiful rooms and not a sound to disturb a good night's rest.</p><p>We were greeted upon arrival by a very friendly young man, who explained the basic working of the Guest House to us.</p><p>We wanted a more personal reception, but theowners were away for the weekend and could not provide that personal touch.</p><p>Reading through the impressive guest list and all the fantastic comments, it appears as if we missed the magic of the house and that was sucha pity.</p><p>Maybe we will give it another bash to see if we can remove the ghosts? Certainly enough potential. . . . .</p><p></p>"

    18 February 2015

"No one explained the facilities and how the house operates - forget the missing welcoming glass of sherry.<div>So when leaving the braai room that evening, my wife and I had to stumble through the dark garden, avoiding the water from the sprinklers, hosepipes, deckchairs, trees, and a huge concrete-lined pit nearby.</div><div>That's only one example.</div><div>By far our most unenjoyable stay on the West Coast so far.</div><div>I felt more like a trespasser than a guest.</div>"

  • "More than expected"

    18 November 2013

"South Africans in general are too scared to complain about bad service and that is why a lot of places get away with over promising and under delivering, but Goblin Creek is the opposite! One gets more that expected! I will definitely stay there again. George and Lita are true gems and just make you feel totally at home."

  • "Fantastic long weekend"

    30 January 2012

"It was our first visit to the West Coast and what a fantastic experience. The host was so accommodating that it was like staying with friends. Goblin Creek Manor House is well situated as a central point for seeing many of the West Coast attractions. Great value for money too. No complaints whatsoever."

  • "Comfortable stay"

    27 January 2012

"Goblin Creek is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. Elaine is a warm and welcoming hostess, and makes it easy for guests to either self cater or be catered for. Proximity to the fish factory is occasionally problematic, with the generators and smell of fish, but we felt that the value-for-money aspect outweighed the possible downside."

  • "Stunning"

    27 November 2010

"They say that beautiful people make beautiful things happen. The hostess, Elaine has given Goblin Creek a truly beautiful and loving ambience. I give it 4 for security because living in Johannesburg I am not used to being without burglar bars, (actually burglar bars will spoil the look of this place) however as a single woman I felt very safe. Also, none of my West Coast accommodation had fences or burglar bars, so it just takes getting used to.However, overall truly stunning and hig ... more"

  • "Refreshing place"

    18 October 2010

"This guesthouse has all the charm of an active farm house (rooster included), location of a beach house and quiet places where a couple can just be. The sunbird nest just outside our room window confirmed that this place is not just for show but really is a home away from home for the weary traveler. Highly recommended."

  • "Delicious"

    14 April 2010

"Staying at this guest house was wonderful. We celebrated our engagement, and it was like almost being on our honeymoon! In addition, we forgot one suitcase with all our clothes and other essentials, and our hostess called in help to make sure we were dressed properly. The sea and animals provided the livelihood we needed, along with our hospitable hostess. Next visit there: our real honeymoon?"

The attention to details could beat any 5 star hotel, the whole place was full of good taste. The breakfast was great, the rooms were very beautiful and cozy, the common areas also very comfortable. This was by far the more pleasant accomodation of our trip and we will recommend it to all our friends."

  • "Good clean fun."

    07 August 2005

"The kingsized bed with wood burning fireplace was a fantastic setting for a one night romantic stopover. The large victorian bath was just as enjoyable. On a whole a very enjoyable experience that will only get better once the land scaping has been finished. The lovely prung wooden floors and rustic decor gives you a nice, relaxing place to spend a couple of days. There is also ample beach space for anyone who wants to go for a walk or even a swim. The only minor drawback is the fish cannery just down the road can get quite, um, fragrant at times."
